we need to remove female character writing as a point when judging shonen manga, it's made targeting boys naturally they're gonna put less focus on the women, it's like saying Toradora is better at bleach and one piece in romance, while it's true it's not really a gotcha since both stories are trying to hit different targets
no

good writing is not the equivalent of whats the focus, your story can still be primarily focused on its male cast while still having good writing for its female cast in the same way you would have good writing for supporting characters, demographic has nothing to do with that, because in which case you can just argue shonen is allowed to have massive plot holes, inconsistent writing and terrible themes because its aimed at 12 year olds, demographic only influences style and marketing not the quality of writing and if it does its a mark of bad writing regardless.

so no your toradora example just doesn't work because your conflating quality of writing and characterization with genre conventions, there are plenty of female lead romance stories that have significantly worse writing than many of the female characters in the big three and the inverse is also true of there being many action focused series where plenty of side characters who happen to be female are better characterized than many of the girls in the big three.

this just comes off as a way to excuse bad writing, and this standard applies to shojo as well, it doesnt matter if the demographic is aimed at woman, a badly written male character is still a badly written character, the only thing that may change with a shift in demographics is a shift in POV and focus not quality, the reason your less likely to see people bitch about shojo is because A shonen is significantly more popular and B there are more woman that read shonen than men that read shojo.

what we should instead be doing is trying to push people away from the idea that screentime/hype moments ect are an equivalent to good writing, both MALE or FEMALE characters do not need to have the same focus or screentime as the main lead to have good writing if they fill their role in the story.

I want your takes on this

i’ve been thinking about that moment. when sasuke first countered A’s punch with amaterasu, he didn’t have his cloak on -he was in base form-, which is probably why it was so effective. if he was in his v2 cloak, i’m not sure it would’ve burned through immediately. A would’ve hit sasuke, the cloak would get affected by amaterasu, and then he’d just get rid of it, kind of like what naruto did.

Sasuke was not more likely to die than Ay about to dive on top of flames that never stopped burning and already took his arm 💀

that mf was guaranteed dead

either they both die there or Sasuke barely survives and gets healed by Jugo or Karin.

he had the cloak on, it just didn't matter

I don't think Ay's lightning aura can just be globbed into sections like Bijuu chakra can

Unc Kishimoto better pick up the pen soon, I can't go weeks between Burgerto chapters anymore. Lack of ninja is frying my brain

Boruto: Naruto The Movie.

This movie is "more canon" than the Boruto manga because it was written by Kishimoto.
Based.

I also liked this movie immensely more than both the manga and anime because of the mountain busting taijutsu. This is the one that's canon in my eyes.

well the manga is also reviewed by kishimoto regardless so it dont really get more canon unless you think stuff done by kishis hands are the only things that are canon

I believe the canon movies would be the last, boruto movie and road to ninja (these are essentially produced straight from the source aka kishi)

the third one has a continuity issue but I still use it for some inverse arguments like obito fearing itachi

I was discussing Hagoromo with someone and he said, "Naruto's official website has infinite glare for Hagoromo." Does such a statement really exist? I think it might be a translation error or a case of using the word infinite in too many senses. @MinatoSparkle
