Actually Meliodas's energy simple dispersed due to him being stopped by the comandament. Honestly I think a power sealing or something should work. Cause everyone still have their powers like ban his regenration, but they simply can't move their bodies and use them.

He only null his opponent ability to harm thing, and ban regen is more of defensive ability and not cause any direct harm to anyone.

That is hard to tell. If his comandament affected Meliodas even a second before they made contact, than Meliodas's body would of stopped and his energy would of dispersed and since there was an "explosion"/"disspersion" of energy i would say that's what happened.
If he used power null nothing would of happened or at least that's how it usually should be with power null...
The fact they can't move proves they can't use anything barriers included. That said i don't particulary care so you can try and see with @Zero or @Dark as Dark for example has updated most profiles.
