The holiday Special was good better then i expected.

Somehow, I never figured it out that it was going to BE a Holiday Special until I watched it. Was top tier episode(s)/special nonetheless.

Yep, easily my favorite episode in awhile. My favorite part was the beginning with all the background ponies interacting and singing.

I'm a little late, but I really liked how season 8 ended; though, I'm kind of getting tired of exaggerated surprise villains tbh. First Disney started doing it, and now Hasbro.

I mean, not even the JoTTS got rid of it, and it said the same thing and gave Starswirl an even better feat than the official episode.

If there's one major problem I had though, was the episode where that Dragon who pretended to be Spike's father I really didn't like. Redeeming qualities was the song being catchy, and the supposed backstory being somewhat emotional, but I couldn't stand how much of a lazy ass that fat dragon was. Nor did I like how easily Spike seemed brainwashed by his influence, and the OOC things he said to Twilight. Also, the surprise, "Not your real dad" flat out ruined the emotional aspect of that backstory. But the ending was at least nice.

Lightning Dust's episode was my pet peeve. First time I've ever outright ''hated'' a MLP episode. Oh and the Killin made me pissed off after what they tried to pull. Strangely enough I found Discord's episode alright.

That episode was underwhelming in every possible way. Mediocre music, bait-and-switch plot, same moral we always get with nothing added. The only thing that we can really take from it is the possible confirmation that Spike views Twilight as a parental figure.

Sandbar is my favorite. The show needed a chill, laid back character to offset the craziness. They're all great, though.
