My Hero Academia General Discussion Thread #18

Is it bad that I've heard weirder justifications for this sort of thing?

Should Dabi get Type 2 Immortality at this point?
No, Immortality is... well immortality. "Characters with this degree of immortality can indefinitely survive injuries that would otherwise be lethal to a normal person, without needing to heal."

In order to qualify Dabi or anyone would need to be capable of surviving lethal injuries forever, basically the wounds mean nothing. This is not the case here as Dabi's wounds will eventually kill him, but his will/hate is keeping him alive longer than what should be possible. And that is Supernatural Willpower.

"Although some characters can be considered to have a great will to achieve their goals or give their all in a fight, characters that have a willpower on this level can go vastly beyond what should logically be possible for them, with more extreme cases being able to oppose natural phenomena such as death."

So no he doesn't qualify.

Resistance to Pain Manipulation is the inability to feel or suppression of pain. Supernatural Willpower is possessing enough mental fortitude to overcome the limits of the body to, typically, overcome great injury. Pain Tolerance would be merely having an immense threshold for pain without necessarily having indomitable will. Just having a resilience body.

You should probably make a thread on it and contact staff about it.

If you feel the same amount of pain as a normal person than not reacting to that pain is supernatural willpower. This ability covers many things related to "willpower."

Resistance to Pain Manipulation would be if you feel less pain than normal, meaning pain is more numb or not as effective. Or feeling no pain at all.

What does having a resilience body even mean? I don't understand your explanation here. Can you give an example?

Related question to this, what if a character just resists pain manipulation, but still feels the same amount of pain as a normal person. For example a dagger that hurts 100x more than other daggers just hurts as much a dagger? Or someone has the power to inflict phantom pain and the character doesn't feel the pain at all?

So this latest chapter has gotten me pondering for a bit now and I'm curious to hear communities takes on him especially as more chapters arise but starting here,

How do you guys feel about AFO?[as a character]

He’s a bastard.
that’s his character.
and I LOVE IT. He’s unmistakably evil, there’s no noble goal behind it, he’s a selfish bastard who want to be a demon king.
His vestige and his actual form seem split in a way as well, which I find intresting.
the vestige of AFO (the quirk) is a parasite, completely attaching itself to, and trying to fuse with, Tomura, despite the actual AFO saying that He‘s passed the baton on to Tomura.
I find it interesting because I feel like it disproves Destro’s Theory in a way. All for One (quirk) is greedy and just what’s to steal and hoard (reminds me of the orange lantern from DC), while the person is methodical, and doesn’t mind taking L’s for his 5000 IQ chess plays to keep going through. Showing a complete distinction between the quirks and the user’s personalities.

It seems to me that this is what would happen if the chosen one was not a good person.
I say imagine that there are powers that have devastated the world and suddenly you awaken a power that can handle the flow of that power.
I'm sure AFO felt like the chosen one to rule it all.

364 officials confirm Eri’s power to be Causality Manipulation.

So, Eri and AFO both need it on their profiles. AFO’s profile with the quirk bullets needs to be:

Self-Causality Manipulation, Regeneration (At least Mid-High: regenerated from being turned to ashes by Endeavor), Transformation
