Sans for 9-B, considerably one of the best-written gaming characters ever made
6AE06C52E127CB62C438D75B55718FB09E7C66D2

Disagree because Papyrus exist in the first place

Second: I don´t find him one of the best written gaming characters ever made

Third: Easy boss

For a verdict, there must be at least five votes in favor of the character, with a minimum difference of three votes

Pyra and Mythra are one vote away

Papyrus is notable, but he doesn't have much of an impact on the genocide route

Answer to that, he is also one of the cringiest characters that's why

C'mon you don't need to lie

Po from Kung-Fu Panda for 7-C or 8-A just because it's one of Dreamworks' best works. I feel like a lot of Dreamworks characters should qualify but I can't quite write an essay for them yet lol

Also Fire Emblem Three Houses characters for High 6-C

WARNING: HEAVY BLACK CLOVER SPOILERS 🚨🚨🚨

Most people think that I enjoy Secre Swallowtail because of my simp-like tendencies. I can't exactly deny those allegations, but I believe my appreciation runs deeper. I admire a woman not only for her mere physical features but also for her character depth, dynamics, achievements, and the values she embodies. I consider Secre Swallowtail one of the most well-written characters in Black Clover; therefore, I believe she deserves a spot in Unknown Tier.

Secre Swallowtail is a girl whose only magic is to open and close things. Although she is a noblewoman, she was made into a servant for the prince due to the perceived uselessness of her magic. In a world where magic is everything, discrimination against the weak runs rampant. The royals epitomize this discrimination because of their exceptional magic. The prince's talent and magic are considered superior even among other royals. Secre was aware of this and logically assumed the prince would be the worst of the royals. However, Prince Lumiere Silvamillion Clover defied all her expectations. He loved her magic. He saw it’s potential. He broadened her understanding of magic, and in return, she assisted him in creating magical items for the kingdom's betterment. Lumiere had hobbies like tailoring and even crafted clothes for her. He was kind...

0204-004.png

One morning, Lumiere befriended the leader of the elves, Licht, who became his equal. The magical technology possessed by both humans and elves allowed the two races to coexist harmoniously. Lumiere's sister and Licht planned to start a family. However, some might argue that their plans stemmed from something sinister.

A devil wreaked havoc on Lumiere and Licht's lives. By instigating fear of an elven takeover among the already hate filled and rotten human royal families, the devil shattered the relationship between humans and elves. Eventually, the Royals exploited Lumiere and Secre's work to absorb the elves' power, leading to the annihilation of the elven race. Secre's world crumbled. The devil intended to exploit this chaos to possess the elven leader's body and grimoire. To prevent this, Licht absorbed a corrupting power that transformed him into a mindless, massive demon. Aware of the consequences, Licht implored his best friend to prevent him from ravaging the Clover Kingdom. Devastated by everything around her, Secre remained resolute. She did her best to aid the fallen elves, sensing that Lumiere's sister, who was carrying Licht's children, was still alive. Using her power, Secre sealed the wounds, but she couldn't truly heal but only close the wounds up. She clung to the hope that the children of her prince’s best friend had been spared.

She sensed Lumiere’s sister was still alive carrying Licht’s kids. She used her power to close up the damages. All she can do is close up damages but can’t technically heal. So all she could do was hope that his master’s best friend’s children were saved.

0205-004.png

Lumiere and Licht fought a devastating and overwhelming battle. If Lumiere did not destroy his only friend, the Clover Kingdom would suffer the same fate. The once Elf turned demon, Licht prepared for his final attack that would turn the Kingdom to dust. Lumiere was not sure if he could defend his country from that powerful attack. However, Secre acted more quickly. She sought to redeem the magic item Lumiere and she had worked on, which was unfortunately used for evil. She brought it to Lumiere, and he used it to absorb just enough of the Demon’s magic power to save the country. For a brief moment, Licht regained his senses and begged Lumiere to end his life. Tragically, Lumiere complied. Even though all the credit went to Lumiere, Secre was satisfied by the fact that she did her part.

Secre did not let the devil go scot-free. She grabbed the magic stones which granted her the corrupting power of a devil and confronted the devil himself who caused all this mayhem. She used the power to boost her magic and sealed the devil. But the cunning devil wasn't finished; it took the magic stones while being sealed and used them to suspend souls for many years to enact plan B of its master plan. The devil’s name is Zagred. Secre sealed that Devil.

0205-009.png

0205-010.png

She then went to attend to her prince. Lumiere had suffered immense injuries from the heartbreaking battle. He wasn’t going to survive. Secre wasn't about to let Lumiere die. Her only choice was to use the corrupting power to seal Lumiere so that someday he might wake up again. In the end, the corrupting power she used transformed her body into a bird. But make no mistake, Secre’s duty hadn't ended even as a bird. Even though Licht’s body was gone, Licht’s 5-leaf grimoire remained, and Secre made it her duty to watch over it because she knew the sealing would wear off someday.

I disagree

For 500 years, Secre watched over the grimoire. She observed everywhere it was taken and everywhere it was discarded. Eventually, the grimoire found Asta’s mother, a peasant who lived in the woods due to her dangerous magic that drained the life from those near her. Secre watched as she died while sealing a different devil she treated as her own son in it. She watched as that devil gained anti-magic powers. Finally, she watched as the grimoire reached Asta.

As a bird, she followed Asta throughout his journey and struggles to become a magic knight and during his adventures as a magic knight. Secre knew her seal on Zagred was going to break around that time and that an elf had reincarnated, angry at the humans for killing their race to begin with, all of which was orchestrated by Zagred to bring back all the other elves, including Licht. So, she sought to revive the ancient Prince by giving Asta and his magic knight team the magic stones that she found during their missions. While the devil obtained its body, she spoke to one of the members of Asta’s team, Finral. Finral took Secre to the statue, and Now that the seal was broken, Secre’s corruption became weakened enough for her to transform back into a human, She transformed into a human and revived Lumiere, her prince. The prince thanked her and took her to thwart the devil’s plans once more.

She told the prince that she wanted to unseal Licht’s corrupted mind because it was still bound by the corrupting power that turned him into an ancient demon. Lumiere and Licht reunited and embraced, all thanks to Secre.

Asta, Yuno, Lumiere, and Licht, along with others, fought the devil to save their country once more. The elves, once reincarnated with revenge in their hearts, sought to redeem themselves any way they can for all the atrocities they committed against humans. Secre was commited to helping any way she can.

The battle was long and hard, but eventually, when Asta was too injured to deliver the final blow to the devil, Secre sealed his wounds, enabling Asta to strike the final blow. After 500 years, she did her part to defend her country again and defeat the Devil. The reincarnation spell was broken, and Lumiere and the elves passed on. Finally.

Despite her efforts, she was tried by her country. Using the corrupting power is a punishable offense by law, leading to a death penalty. It’s forbidden magic. She also aided Asta, who was also wanted for using another devil. She understood Asta’s goals and ideology that anyone could live together equally, but she also recognized the persistent discrimination and prejudice overshadowing Asta’s achievements. Eventually, she and Asta were saved from the harsh justice system by the Black Bulls. Yami, the captain, recognized her and made her an official magic knight.

For 500 years, her only reason to live was for the prince, who was her world. For 500 years, she lived only for her mission. After her mission was complete, she had no reason to live anymore. Maybe it’s because she was a bird that she didn’t go insane. After defeating the devil, she became an empty shell with no purpose, but she was given one. Her final mission, as given by Lumiere Silvamillion Clover before he passed on, was to stay alive. Her last mission was to find happiness with her friends. That proved to be her most challenging mission yet.

The Black Bulls faced formidable foes like The Dark Disciples, The Dark Triad, more Devils, and even the king of Devils himself, Lucifero. In the midst of all that she discovers that her efforts have paid off. She even protected one of Licht's unborn twins.

Then came Lucius,

whose goal was to annihilate humanity, rebuild it, and rule over it. The only obstacle in his path was Asta.

So, he struck down Asta right before her eyes.

Once the rest of the Black Bulls learned of this, they refused to believe Asta was dead. They set out to find him, as he was the only hope to stop Lucius. They found Asta in a distant land. It turned out that the person Lucius tasked with killing Asta had sent him far away instead of erasing him without Lucius's knowledge. To bring Asta back, a ritual had to be performed to open a portal, (2)

but Lucius had anticipated this. He sent a Paladin, a formidable foe even among his peers, to eliminate any chance of Asta's survival. The Black Bulls were prepared to fight to the death. Vanessa, who could change fate, was occupied with the ritual. The Bulls depended on Grey and Gauche to keep them alive as they were repeatedly struck down by the enemy's sword. However, the enemy targeted those who were keeping the Bulls alive, and soon, everyone was down. But Secre didn't give up. She sealed the wounds of all her teammates before they could succumb. The Black Bulls were not finished.

Secre was chosen by the Black Bulls to protect the ritual's door, which would bring Asta back. The Black Bulls tried once more to buy time for the ritual's completion. They were struck down one by one, their most powerful attacks proving futile against the Paladin's sword. With the Black Bulls defeated and Asta still not back, the Paladin destroyed the ritual. Secre, the last one standing, was heartbroken. How could she fulfill her final mission if all her comrades were dead? How could she defeat the Paladin without Asta? In her despair, she called out for Asta. At that moment, Asta emerged from the portal. He thanked her and approached the enemy. In Asta, Secre began to see shades of her prince. She even started to view Asta as the future Wizard King.

Asta swiftly defeated the Paladin. Thanks to Secre's magic, everyone was barely kept alive and eventually healed by the Witch Queen. There was still hope for Secre's last mission to be fulfilled.

Secre Swallowtail's journey in Black Clover epitomizes the essence of resilience, redemption, and self-discovery. Born a noble yet marginalized due to her seemingly "useless" magic, Secre's life turns around when Prince Lumiere recognizes her potential, fostering a bond rooted in mutual respect. However, the devil's plans thrust her into a pivotal role, leading her to save Licht's lineage, the kingdom and seal the devil at the cost of destroying her humanity. For 500 years, she silently observed the kingdom's evolution and the grimoire's path, gaining wisdom. As her seal began to weaken on the Devil and even as a mere bird, Secre transitioned from observer to active participant, forging bonds with young heroes like Asta. Her induction into the Black Bulls signifies her quest for personal belonging and happiness, beyond duty.

Secre Swallowtail's character journey is a great blend of tragedy, hope, duty, and redemption. Her evolution from a noblewoman to a guardian of legacies, her unwavering commitment to the greater good, and her rediscovery of purpose and bonds make her a standout character in Black Clover. While many might overlook her contributions in the grander scheme of things, a deeper analysis reveals her as an underrated heroine. She truly deserves a place in the Unknown Tier.

So you guys are turning this thread into a pseudo image dump thread or something?

Gonna post summary write-ups for a few characters later.

PS: Thread's still annoying to navigate even with a scrollbar.

Hey, not everyone reads texts without pictures, sometimes pictures speak for themselves

hehe

Also, Superstar, would it be possible if you link the comment that is justifying the placement of the characters? So that when someone is viewing the OP, they can click the link and be redirected to the justification.

If it's too much work, you don't have to do it.
