According to the Russos, Mjolnir would not be able to withstand the blast from all six Infinity Stones like Stormbreaker because it is not as powerful as the axe, which means:

• Stormbreaker > Mjolnir
• Stormbreaker overpowering the IG beam is AP and not hax

So Stormbreaker’s IG feat is applicable for AP justification and its “limited Power Nullification” should be removed

This seems to make sense, and it's way more consistent with what's actually shown on-screen in Infinity War. Nowhere in canon screen time was it shown that Eitri designed Stormbreaker to counteract the Infinity Gauntlet, especially since the Gauntlet was a new creation and Stormbreaker's plans had been around for centuries (likely far longer, if Love and Thunder is anything to go by) before this.
