Minor Gaara Addition

i was looking at gaaras page and saw his abilities was missing paralysis. In chapter 658 we see gaara engage alive madara and use an ability that not only cut holes into madara but ground the sand so fine he slipped it in his blood stream which madara noted "rob one of free movement". Of course this didnt work very well on madara in the end but its because hes madara. The main things he seems to do from this is pause madaras movement to allow for a free strike, so this would be a higher form of paralysis thats physically imposed on the enemy through their bloodstream.

Secondly id like to talk about adding resistance to electricity for gaara. Early on into gaaras fight with lee we see that gaara puts a shield of sand around his own body to act as a last line of defense. This extra layer of sand around his body would provide protection against electricity as silicon dioxide serves as an insulator which means it has poor electrical conductivity. One cool thing worth noting is that theres a strong relationship between thermal conductivity and granularity which also based off what ive shown gaara can very nicely control.

So, the proposition is for Biological Manipulation by embedding sand into their blood so as to impede their movement due to the sand being something that one controls? (As well as likely also hindering the blood's flow of movement?)

I'm a little skeptic it qualifies for Biological Manipulation.

Summary

Ability to manipulate organic beings. May range from minor body control to matter manipulation at molecular level. In addition, biological manipulation often provides a high level of adaptation (might also lead to reactive evolution), immunity to various influences (such as poisons or diseases), and heal wounds at an accelerated rate (or even regenerate).

Possible Uses

  • Body Control - Managing the user's own body, allowing higher functional capacity. It is done at the expense of mental commands, via special techniques (breathing techniques, acupuncture, etc.)
  • Shape Change - A higher level of biological manipulation, allowing to maximize output of the body, and modify it (within a certain limit) in order to achieve greater efficiency in the battle (e.g. lengthening limbs, transforming into animals, increasing or decreasing in size, etc.)
  • Manipulation of cells/Genetic level - Control at the level of organic cells or genes, which makes it possible to initiate various mutations, as well as to protect the user from diseases. Additionally, such ability generally provides a high level of adaptation and regeneration, and evolve very quickly in some cases.
  • Manipulation of atoms/molecules - A form of matter manipulation specialized in organics. This ability gives the user almost unlimited possibilities. The user can easily create any kind of pathogen, carry out the most improbable (and beneficial) mutations, evolve in the blink of an eye, etc.

As I understand it, Gaara is impeding movement physically through controlling sand that he put in someone's body.

It might qualify for Body Puppetry &/or Paralysis Inducement. Does Gaara not already have those?

Yeah i originally thought of body puppetry just thought that since biological manipulation specified it was organic it more closely fit. But gaara does not have body puppetry, and has paralysis through the default shinobi kit.

This isn't Biological Manipulation. Gaara's isn't manipulating Madara's biology here.

Could it qualify as Limited Body Puppetry &/or another form of Paralysis Inducement, then?

If you'll pardon my alerting you, please, do you have any opinion on the revised propositions?
yeah that sounds good

Edit: I also edited the OP
Checking the OP, I don't see what indicates what the Biological Manipulation has been changed to, if anything.

Further, regarding this, seems dubious. On one hand, if silicon is indeed insulatory IRL as indicated, that's a valid point in its favor, but on the other hand, did it demonstrate that Resistance in-universe?

should be fixed now

Yes it does indeed. Sasuke fights gaara and uses the chidori on him. Its here we see the chidori pierce through the sand due to the nature of the attack and then pierce gaaras chest. We see inside the sand theres no visible electricity, lighting gaaras body. Its only as sasukes pulling his arm out we see the electricity. This makes me believe that the the sand is a decent insulator here granting him at least limited resistance to electrical manipulation when the sand body cast is on.

Honestly I think it's basic material science, even if it didn't showcase that resistance. Gaara uses Chakra to manipulate real sand and form/change it's shape. Agreeing that its real sand and then being doubtful of one of it's most fundamental and universally known properties is lil confusing.

it's like asking whether or not rubber has demonstrated the inverse ability to stretch kinda.

In that case, the Electricity Manipulation is fine with me.

I had wondered if any resistance was brought up, though I suppose I'd forgotten the principle of "Like reality unless noted".

Following up on the revised proposal based on this, I'd like to know what Damage3245 thinks, given their previous opinionation on the previous, Biological Manipulation-based proposal.

Now that I'm peeping closely, I think Body Puppetry should be removed and Paralysis should be the only thing added, Madara notes that it robs him of free movement, which is in line with what DB4 says.

I'm fine with this.

changed op to only include this descriptive paralysis and the resistance to electricity

Missing Paralysis?

According to that, he already has it?

Anyway, another form/means of Paralysis Inducement is a perfectly valid addition to propose, so I'm okay with it, even if the proposal in the OP could stand to be phrased a bit better.
As already said, I'm fine with the Resistance to Electricity Manipulation.
