Mega Man Discussion thread

Woah, the insane speeds keep feats keep appearing. Noice!

Come to think of it, weird that the Xtreme games weren't included in the Legacy Collection.
I guess, but it's definitely a game that wasn't remarkable enough to be included gameplay-wise.

Holy peak

Also this would mean that .EXE and Geo would get one shotted lmfaoo
I do have plans for EXE and Geo too. I feel like I could get EXE to 2-B with just games alone but I want to fully play the games in depth.

And Geo should just blatantly scale to EXE.

Higher dimensional statements exist for Star Force funnily enough.

Interesting. Geo also has a "strongest" statement from what i've heard

I’m ngl…

Every rewatch of the MMBR makes me think it’s worse than the last times.

Really? I don't recall much from it. I assume the Megamen must have been downplayed quite a bit since it was earlier in Death Battle when their research was more conservative. But the result was accurate, wasn't it? EXE > Geo > X > Rock > Volnutt. Though maybe nowadays EXE vs Geo is more debatable?

I wasn’t talking research when I said this.

Just how weirdly characterised the characters are (Rock constantly targeting X for no reason and Geo and Hub immediately going for one another even though they’ve helped each other out before, Volnutt being just treated like nothing), incomplete backstories in their analysis (it was never brought up that Rock wanted to become Mega Man and that he’s a prototype(?), Barrel & Roll aren’t even mentioned in Volnutt’s analysis, Geo’s depression in SF1 -which is a super important part of his character growth- is never mentioned), how underutilised everyone is (we don’t see any of Geo’s forms, and only 1 form/armors of Hub and X even though we could’ve gotten 1-2 more of them each- all things that would’ve done wonders to the episode if they’d been shown), all the constant dissing of Volnutt, and some of the jokes just aged worse than month old milk…

The only thing that aged well for me was the OST. Megamania is still a bop.

Sounds about right.

Ah, crap, I had forgotten all that. Though I did remember that Rock seemed to have it for X and that were many unnecessary potshots towards Volnutt. I'm guessing that turning free for all into two 1 on 1 duels between Rock vs X and EXE vs Geo, was easier to choreograph, but yeah it kinda kills the point of a battle royale.

I'd argue that maybe there were constraints that didn't allow to show the many forms of the Megamen during the fight, but if the many X vs Zero fan animations in youtube can squeeze in all of X's armors and Zero's forms into a 5 minute fight in a rapid sequence, then it's perfectly doable.

EXACTLY! It would’ve cost nothing to make a few Red Joker sprites or see Falcon Armor X.

Ah, man… It sucks that the animation gets worse with every rewatch for me. It used to be my fave DB episode…

Yeah, it's a big bummer. Happened to me with the first Superman vs Goku fight. I always loved the sense of escalation it had, but when I went back to it the 3D animation looked incredibly janky and both Clark and Goku were written as incredibly unlikeable.

Guess the Megamen Battle Royale rode too heavily on its novelty. Doesn't help how newer animation, even fan animations you can find around keep improving.

Well, here are X and Zero bullying Robot Masters to help with the bad taste:

I don't associate the auraless "What am I fighting for!!11111!!11" Zero with the aura farming "im no hero" Zero
Saying X4 Zero had no aura is crazy when this is the same game where it showed the mindless version of him busting open Sigma's face with a metal pipe.

Great work on the Mega Man X profile split y'all!
Only thing I'd add is a picture of X8's base armour, since that's the only notable design change at the very end of X's timeline pre-Elf Wars (also I suppose Command Mission is gonna be split next?)

Oh btw, while not a great render, I think it's enough it could coexist with the render in the current Z-Era page

Pretty insane seeing a 2-C Mega Man line-up, either way, besides the point I wanted to ask something. Where did the "likely Infinite" for speed come from?

Mega Man's universe was accepted as being "likely Infinite" in size

Since the current MFTL+ feat used on the profile involves structures of comparable size to it being completely covered in an "instant" (Migue79 explains this feat here), then Infinite speed would be needed to cover an infinite-sized structure on a finite amount of time (Although, yeah, i believe the profile should also leave explicit from where does the Infinite rating comes from)

Holy shit, excellent work there dude. It brings tears to my eyes to see my boyo X rise up like that sniff

And Zero getting more badass is ALWAYS a good thing. But that's something we all have for granted.

This a recently finding how well X did in the recent Capcom popularity polls (and the reevaluation of his character I've seen around) make me happy.
