I saw the Wonder Man trailer, I'm cautiously excited rn. I've been let down by Marvel Shows I was hyped for before though. That said, it gave me the most hope it would be good since the original announcement, and I initially had no reaction besides meh. It actually gave me an idea of what the plot might be without giving away too much which is nice. Also, it's interesting to see an "otherwise normal guy who happens to have superpowers" being done in the MCU. Gives me early Spider-Man vibes, but while also not coming off purely as self-centered.

Also, the Fantastic Four/Black Panther teaser trailer brought back some of my hype for Doomsday. Interested to see Namor finally interact with the Fantastic Four. It's pretty clever, because Black Panther's first appearance was in the Fantastic Four. I'm hoping they don't sideline the F4 because Doom is their villain. I'm fine with them being part of an ensemble, but if they don't have a lot of interactions between Reed & Doom, I'll be kinda upset lol.

Well First Steps did imply they had history since Latveria is the only one who refused to attend the UN summit and the team didn't seem to be that surprised, hinting at Victor's petty grudge against Reed. And Sue's fear at seeing Doom interacting with her son can be seen as being afraid of him less because of a stranger intruding in her home and more because she knows him and what he's capable of. Considering how massive of a deal the grudge against Reed and the group as a whole is to Doom's story, it'd be surprising it's not used for the movie

Their treatment of Thor in that show took it from a B- to a C-
D+ for me honestly. It's far from the worse parts of the MCU (no Secret Invasion, there's no redemption for you) but the waste is far too strong. Especially since we could have had a good foil to Endgame, with a depressed Thor who would have been much more serious this time. And even if I understand why (what with having five Stones and all), Thanos was really disappointing to the extreme (again, they could have had a storyline where two armies of zombies led by him and Wanda respectively would oppose each other in a quest for the Stones)

Do we know what weapons/technology damage control currently has access to? Do they have anything strong in their collection?

They seem around tier 8 in terms of what they've actually been shown to use, as Damage Control has stuck to using Stark Combat Drones and Sonic Cannons. In theory, they should be able to use other stuff established to be in their vault, like Chitauri and Ultron tech, though they haven't really done so. I think there's a single line in Spider-Man: Homecoming implying that Vulture's crew was able to steal Black Hole Grenades from Damage Control, suggesting that at least at one point they had Dark Elf tech reaching up to tier 6.

They called wonder man an extraordinary threat and wants to capture him despite all the other tech out there

I wonder how strong wonder man is WoG says his main powers are strength super speed and causing massive explosions the speed sounds interesting I wonder how fast he’ll be

We'll just have to wait until the show comes out to see

Given how Damage Control has tech that can harm super soldiers, I'd expect him to at least be around that tier

Eric Williams is in the show, but I don't think it's technically been confirmed yet if we'll see him as the Grim Reaper.

Yeah I remember that. I'm just a little concerned bc of the massive cast size, and the RDJ casting, especially with them bringing back Steve Rogers as a main for Doomsday. I don't Marvel to overshadow the relationship between Doom & the Fantastic Four, by focusing more on Doom vs the Old Gen Avengers.

I'm expecting "Super Soldier+" [Stronger than Super Soldiers but within that range] to maybe "regular Asgardian level" [As in Loki/Sif/Frost Giants, excluding Odin/Thor/Hela obviously]. Not expecting higher, but we'll see.

I was thinking of trying to cobble to together what will probably be my last CRT in a billion years, and I wanted ask a question about how we currently treat superhuman characters before I committed too much time into it. I was thinking that all characters with statements of having "enhanced/superhuman strength" [aka superhumans without super soldier scaling] should at minimum upscale the 9-A for Peak Humans, since characters like Crossbones, Falcon, Hawkeye are not considered to be superhuman without their technology/equipment. This is already partially done, but we don't have a consistent standard. Weirdly enough skrull already upscale from peak humans, but the Kree don't. The most egregious example is that we have Korath [who is supposedly "superhuman" prior to his cybernetics] as only 9-C, while using the enhanced statement as justification for the tier.

Another example is Nuke. He is supposed to be low level enhanced with the IGH pills, and injures Jessica Jones [albeit while she was weakened], yet is only 9-B. She couldn't have been that weakened either, because other characters with the enhancers have held their own against her. Also, I was thinking Wakandan weapons that use vibranium should be super soldier tier. Found some stuff that could buff the non Namor Talokani to 8-C.

Also I had an idea for upgrading Super Skrull characters like Gravik & G'iah that isn't just an upscale from the regular Skrulls, its a work in progress.

There's pictures of leaked Funko Pop! figures for Avengers: Doomsday currently circulating; while most of them aren't anything too surprising based on the marketing thus far, two of the figures seem potentially spoilerish, which are:
Bearded Steve Rogers (wielding Mjolnir) and Binary
Consider yourself warned...

Binary, I'm not that surprised honestly. But a Mijolnir-wielding Steve is more of a shock so to speak.

Andrew Guest on the status of Hawkeye season 2:

Milheim: "You also worked on 'Hawkeye.' I just wondered, have you have you been involved at all with any sort of development of a Season 2? Have you been able to dip back into that world at all?"

Guest: "There was talk at a certain point about… we did explore creatively what Season 2 of 'Hawkeye' might be if we were able to do it. Unfortunately, the timing didn't work out in terms of Marvel and all the various pieces that need to come together, but I loved working on 'Hawkeye.' I think [Jeremy] Renner and Hailee Steinfeld are so terrific together, and I would love to see more of those two."

Idk if I should post this here but Thor match

As a reminder, all eight episodes of Wonder Man are out now.

I'm only two episodes in so far, but it's off to a strong start. Not much in the way of feats yet.

I'm on episode 3

Shockwave Inducement, as his powers caused a shockwave that shook his apartment
Resistance to Poison, since he survived smoke inhalation without ill effects
Resistance to Fire, he endured fire without getting burned at the age of 13
Probably transformation, since his eyes light up when using his powers

Finished Wonder Man.
Simon never actually fights another super-powered individual in the show, but there's probably enough for a profile. I think his best feat is the explosion at the end of episode 7. The last scene of the series gives potential for speed and lifting strength

After episode 4 of Wonder Man featured Doorman getting his powers from a shadowy substance inside a Roxxon dumpster, I'm curious if the canon status of the Cloak and Dagger series will end up being directly addressed in the future. Probably wouldn't be too unbelievable, considering the Cloak and Dagger series and the Luke Cage series already referenced each other.

So is Wonder Man something that you think I might enjoy watching while I am exercising? 🙏

Not sure. I’m just starting Wonder Man now. Depends on what you’re looking for? It’s not very action oriented, but it’s still really interesting so far

Okay. Thank you for your replies. 🙏

It's funny how the Wonder Man series keeps up the pattern of Damage Control having a terrible track record of keeping anyone in their Supermax Prison, to the point that most of the conflict in the show occurs because of the prison being too empty. Between the Clandestines, Abomination, She-Hulk, and now Trevor, it is still the case that every character of note who has ever been imprisoned there has gotten out.

I’ve heard people theorizing that Wonder Man is
a mutant

Every character of note except Doorman 💔💔

The question is, is it what was planned or is it just bad writing? Is Damage Control supposed to be incompetent at doing its job or only good at catching relatively low-level superpowered individuals at best? Or is it supposed to be seen as competent and it fails because the writing doesn't keep up?

Seems like things started going downhill for Damage Control after they switched from focusing on cleanup to dealing in law enforcement (Heck, even before that point, abruptly eliminating the jobs of Adrian Toomes and his men without compensation was a pretty big blunder on their part). Thus far since Phase Four, they've:
  • Jumped at the opportunity to prosecute Peter Parker and friends (which they completely failed at)
  • Ended up with the ultimate PR disaster when one of their agents went rogue, and caused more collateral damage than their target
  • Failed to notice that Abomination was leaving his cell until they saw internet footage
  • Was quick to apprehend She-Hulk, but made no effort to investigate Intelligencia
  • Going by deleted scenes, were completely unable to prevent Skrull infiltrators from stealing the hand of Cull Obsidian
  • Are currently looking for any excuse to fill up their prison mainly to avoid budget cuts.
Yeah, they probably should've just stuck to being a cleanup crew...

Remind me again, who's brilliant idea it was to try to act like they're the DUP from Infamous?
