As the Marvel vs Capcom games have been given its own earth, i think it is viable to suggest that Ryu gets a profile based on this game series.

MVC Ryu can:
Ryu can change forms into Ken and Evil Ryu in MVC1
Has all sorts of hadoken variations and hadou mode hyper in umvc3
and an Unique shin shoryuken with the dark hadou and infinity stone scaling in MVCi

Wouldn't these abilities alone make him unique enough compared to canon ryu?

If MvC profiles will ever be made, it will not be because of Earth-30847.
We've had a long thread in the past to declare that no more than a nice reference from a single writer, instead of an actual and canon tie-in with the games themselves, which also lack an actual connection between each other, as well as a complete story (besides Infinite).

Ryu would be unique in terms of abilities, but he lacks everything else in terms of story, and would basically be split into several keys, many of which lack such unique abilities and feats.

AW Ryu is an actual character, although not canon, with a little bit of lore and everything else to justify his existence, it's not just a random crossover playable character.
He also has his own unique stuff, most notably the ability to transform into Evil Ryu, something the canon version can't do (as Evil Ryu is a what if character, instead of a transformation).

MVC1 Ryu can also turn into evil ryu AND ken.
MVC3 Ryu also has several different hadouken and shoryuken variations normal ryu does not have and also has trained under iron fist and matched Akuma, again, something normal ryu has not done.
MVCi Ryu also has unique lore attached to him and several unique abilities such as the dark hadou infused shin shoryu.

I still think the ability to turn into Ken alone is enough to make him more unique than AW Ryu.

That is correct, which is why I tought of Ryu as one of the few MvC characters feasible to get a profile.

The problem is that those are already three keys, two of them with little to no lore/story, and all of them are basically copy-pastes of standard Ryu aside for a few things, of which the only really notable one is turning into Ken and Akuma (it looks like Evil Ryu, but it's supposed to play like Akuma).

I still disagree that somehow the alternate Earth doesn’t yet allow for separate character versions. By every definition given they’re separate characters, except your appeal to semantics that it somehow isn’t enough :/

The point is that Earth-30847 isn't something explicitly established to connect comics and games, but rather a mere reference that lasts a single page and contradicts the games themselves, which are already separated from each other in terms of story.

Still, I'd say that MvC1 Ryu could have a profile out of his ability to become either Ken or Akuma.
It also depends on whether or not wiki rules allow his existence, accounting the fact that he has about no story behind, other than him defeating Apocalypse and starting to train Sean in his ending.
His other abilities would also be about the same as canon Ryu, although with some changes.

Finding feats is another thing to do, tbh.
