Marvel Rivals Discussion Thread

On a side note, the stamina category lacks consistency across the profiles. Athletic seems like a lowball when we look at everything the heroes can tank, Superhuman should be the norm.
Agreed
They told me to publish their profiles which we would get from their blog once the verse was created! I’m pretty sure you can go ahead and use their work.
Sounds good

Btw, I just realized that everyone should resist fire, ice, and extreme temperatures due to casually taking attacks from Human Torch and Luna respectively as well as electricity resistance due to Thor/Storm

EDIT: also mind manip, one of Emma’s abilities allows her to directly harm a character’s “sentience”

Since we used Wolverine's moon feat, maybe we can use Thunderbolt Winder Soldier pulling the car feat for LS? Maybe...?

Well the wolverine moon one was for the a rivals original wolverine who appeared in the in game comic so the movie or comic based skins wouldn't work for usage as they are just references so unless we change the stance on that then gor now its cooked

Wasn't being serious, It was a joke about our lack of LS feats.

Oh wait I totally forgot we have the S2 comics running and those do have Class 10~K LS feats for a few people

Are the comics even canon? The Krakoa ones in particular seem to contradict the in game lore. They feel more like supplementary material than straight up canon.

I haven't actually still yet gotten around to reading them for this season, what's contradicting?

It's a bunch of minor things that add up. In the game some of the X-Men quickly break away from the fighting to go put on the uniforms while in the comics they either already have them on (like Psylocke) or don't wear them at all (like Magik). Or how Rocket shows up at the last second to help fight Ultron alongside Thing, Jeff and Squirrel Girl but in the game Wolverine finds him in the armory alongside Groot (who doesn't even show up in the comic) where Rocket hands him an EMP grenade to help take down Ultron while Thing, Jeff, and Squirrel Girl don't show up at all.

There's also how Magneto just doesn't show up in the comic at all despite him fighting Ultron being a major part of his new lore entry, what with him first being killed then getting infected by the Ultron Virus when he's resurrected. In fact the entire fight against Ultron that we see in the comic goes completely differently compared to how it goes in the game lore entries.

Hmm then yeah probably best to keep it as secondary canon or supplementary then

I’m behind on the current scaling. Are there any changes I should make to Hawkeye’s stats before posting his profile?

This is the current stuff

Also, new team ups will seemingly grant more and more abilities each time new ones are introduced. Jeff seems to be getting resistance to electricity, while Luna - weapon creation. Etc.

Maybe we could make the team-ups optional abilities only, and that they don't require to be a 2vs2 in a match to work? Just thinking.

Most have in lore reason for working, and some don’t need the other person to function lore wise (Thor and Loki’s). If they need the other person for it to function (like magneto’s team up with scarlet witch) it would need to be made with the other character.

I'm kinda upset for the removal of Stark and Hulk team up, and poor Parker, they removed all his TU and gave him nothing.

But I'm hyped for Ultron, having a Flying support seems cool as hell, there's only a Flying tank left.

Yeah we shouldn't ignore old teamups just because they've been changed as they all have their own relevant lore that as to why or how they function and/or have some that don't require the other character to use the ability (say like if theh removed fastball specifcal, that doesn't mean hulk can't throw wolverine anymore or that the lore is lost)

I think that depends on the teamup. things like hulk throwing wolverine seem fine to still note since it's not really something unique he couldn't do before, but if they removed Scarlet Witch infusing magneto with chaos magic i think we would need to simply ignore it.

Guess this shows that Hulk is 3.57x more powerful than Ultron. Wouldn't that affect every profile?

I mean, not necessarily. Ultron was more so referring to Hulk’s gamma as a whole, and given how Hulk’s power varies depending on his anger, I don’t believe that Hulk is necessarily able to use that level of power on average. Tbh, it’d probably be better to scale the 3.57x value to Hulk’s ultimate form
