Marvel Rivals Discussion Thread

Wait a minute, if the Marvel Rivals comic is canon to the game, how does it relate to the lore of the game established in the character bios?
For example in the current lore of the game Thor was bfr in another timeline by Loki and asked Bruce Banner for help to return to Asgard urgently, and in the comic we see him fighting against other heroes in Tokyo.

I mean the comic is seemingly just taking place in one of the in game matches, its literally just like an expanded plot of the 2099 map with the teams of the Master Weaver and Spider Zero going against each other.

The other finer details leading up to wherr we are in game we don't get and still haven't gotten in any of the characters actual lore sections but we ofc know they are eventually recruited by galatica or at least sent by her into these matches, this comic is literally just covering the 2099 spider maps by the time that rolls around

Yup I get that but again there is a clear discrepency between where the lore on the profiles leave us and where we actually start in the game with many variants of characters fighting each other so its not all that suprising. The Web of life shit still lines up and the peni-peter spider goon lore does align at least

Its just saying that there is a gap bwtween events that we just dont have info on rn, so kinda like this


The events on the individual character lore - very clear gap leading up to the events of the game and the battles fought on each map in the current time - the Marvel Rivals infinite comic which takes place in the 2099 spider-man maps
 
Lmfao Luna freezes a massive skyscrapper in the new issue, its easily like 8-A ~ 7-C which is just more support for her stopping a tsunami with her powers which should by itself be much higher tier 7.

Considering Namor should scale to Monstro who caused said tsunami I'd say things are looking good

Why Hawkeye doesnt have Hypersonic with Hypersonic Arrow?
 
Do we typically scale freezing feats to normal AP/Dura? I know some verses do, but others don't. For example, if Luna has a Tier 7 feat via ice, and everyone can survive ice attacks from her, would that make them scale to Tier 7?

I mean her Ice is her normal means of attack so it would be her AP but regardless as far as namor goes he launches Monstro as his ult and that only stuns people so they'd scale from Monstro being able to create tsunami

It depends if the verse has a UES, which….Rivals might depending on what we lift and don’t lift from the comics? But without it, no one would scale directly to the freezing of the Tsunami unless they were explicitly hit with the same amount of ice (like, with her using the same exact move and trying the same amount).

Storm should just scale to High 6-A with her weather stuff since she can "flood the world with a thought" so until we see Krakoa in its entirety her lore feat would just be a support feat by statement alone since its size is unknown for now

That's honestly it from what I've done from the list so far we don't actually have a timeframe for the skyscraper freeze so its kinda actually not the best especially since its after Spidey has already wrapped the thing in webs so I'd imagine some time has passed.

We know she freezes the Tsunami in less than 1 minute and stops it so this is definitely decently into tier 7 its just we have no reference for the total length of the wave, I was thinking of using the islands length but I'm not sure if that'd fly so for now I've left it alone but I'd say it should also be about High 7-C ~ 7-B

All around at worst for just these we're looking at a solid upgrade for characters base stats

I'd say so, at worst we just wait until they directly say something like Namor > Monstra or like all his sea life outright instead of using the fact that Namor can destroy battleships that like the one that injured it but regardles yeah.

We also at least have outright 8-A to fallback on too as support
 
Would it make sense to have a Galacta profile? Or for that matter, any non-playable character? As you mentioned, the Dooms are at least 2-C, upto 2-B, Knull should be 3-A because he was called a being of infinite darkness, the Master Weaver has the possibility of going to 2-B or 2-C from this quote:

Dooms tech is 2-A, the MR cosmology is already stated to contain infinite realities but otherwise no Knull and Doom physically have no feats we can scale them from yet and just having infinite darkness isn't enough to say someone is 3-A
