Remaking this since the original thread reached over 400 posts without any kind of conclusion.

Mario Artwork - Super Mario 3D World
Let's a go

Rainbow Powered Twilight
Rainbow Powered

Mario - 5 ( The real cal howard, Noahkaismith, Laughing Manson, Starrynight200, Kaltias )

Twilight Sparkle - 6 ( Pikachu942, Js250476, ZacharyGrossman273, WeeklyBatles, Theglassman12, Bluetrekking )

Inconclusive - 3 ( Paulo.junior969, ShadowStorm65, Foxthefox1000 )

Battle starts at 60 meters

Both are bloodlusted

Twilight is Rainbow Power and Mario is set at High 4-C.

Battle takes place in a massive flowery field.

No knowledge or preptime.
Speed is Equalized.

Now to start off with some facts that were reached in the last thread so we don't retread similar topics that were discussed to death.

Twilight has thousands of kilometers/country level range for her magic and Mario's range is tens of meters with powerups.

Mario loses a majority of powerups upon taking sufficent amount of damage. Some are lost after a time period like the caps from 64.

Mario's time travel is not combat applicable due to Mario's method of using it being extremely undefined and vague. (Ex. with how it's shown in Yoshi's New Island theres no way to determine how a character with the ability to negate certain versions of time travel to stop Mario given lack of info on how he accesses it.

Mario has only ever been shown to use one powerup at a time. So if he wanted to fly after Twilight, he would need to use the tanooki suit, racoon suit, cape feather, bee/boo musroom, etc. However, he would lose access to most other powerups that give any sort of range outisde of melee range. He can still use fireballs due to some games showing he can use that particular ability without a fire flower.

Since it seems we're using the low-end of Mario, he probably has Sub-Rel speed like on his profile, right? If so, Twilight is able to outspeed Mario and then use her plethora of different hax to defeat him, or just BFR him to Tatarus or the moon. My vote goes to Twilight, she's far too versatile and fast to lose here.

thats weird you say she is more veratile since in the last thread so many people put Mario as the more versatile.

I think they are both highly versatile, but I overall give Twilight the edge, plus she can BFR Mario pretty easily in her High 4-C forms IMO.

Bloodlusted, fair enough, but Mario is so much farther on the High 4-C scale that she's crippled or killed in a single hit. It's Android 19 vs Perfect Cell here.

Alright, thank you, Twilight's low-end in this form is like 4x above base level High 4-C so Mario is most likey farther up. However, that still doesn't answer how Mario will escape being BFR'd or taken in by Twilight's telekinesis or other magical abilities from a distance, especially when he can only use one item at a time in this fight.

@AW. That would make a difference if those weren't low end High 4-Cs, as they themselves were upscaled.

@Zach. Given that they're not 4-B or 4-A, I doubt that.

@Pika. BFR from either the moon or Tartarus is escaped due to being able to easily escape the moon and having returned from a hell-esque place before. Telekinesis is just stopped by being stronger and breaking free. Mario using one ability at a time is a clear case of game mechanics, especially because we see them stack in 64. Mario needs one sneak attack to win, and Vanish Cap or Boo Mushroom gives him that chance.

the comibining of caps is a one game only thing and has never been shown to be done with any other power ups. the fact you can combine caps is itself a game mechanic required for a star

Never has it have been shown or implied Mario can do powerup combos in any oher game or with any other kind of powerup.

and expplain how hell esque place A equals hell esque place B? if Mario got teleported to Tartarus, what proof do you have he could get out?

How exactly would he...just break out of the telekinesis? It's never been shown in the show that just being stronger allows you to break free of it. Since Twilight's abilities work with just a thought, she can easily implement them before Mario can land any sneak attack, since they start at a distance and speed is equalized with no preptime or knowledge. Also because of the latter, Mario will have no idea about Twilight's long-ranged psychic abilities, and since both are bloodlusted, Twilight will go for it right away.

In addition to all of this, Twilight has stuff that I don't think you can simply "overpower", such as Gravity Manipulation ofrTransmutation. She could just turn Mario into an orange or something lol.

Also, what exactly are the rules on BFR again? Like how long does it take to be considered? Because if Mario is just sealed in the moon for example, sure, he could make it back...once he is unsealed, in which he stays trapped in the moon for 1000 years. And also, how does being trapped in one hell-esque place equate to being trapped in another? Even if he could get out, it's pretty much stated the only way you're getting out is if Cerberus is off-duty, which has happened once in a millenia.

Yeah. Putting on two hats at once is a game mechanic. It's a game mechanic because a suit shouldn't stop the effects of a flower from working. The only time it's explicitly not game mechanics is for the Mega and Mini Mushroom.

Because according to the last thread, Tartarus has a much easier exit than Underwhere.

I thought this was just regular Mario and not Paper Mario? Since when were we using composite? Either way, not a super good answer either.

@Pika. Because no one has been several hundreds of times stronger than it. And Mario resists both of those things to the point of no-selling.

the power ups Mario uses are magical, while the caps might be able to combine together, the magi of the fire and ice flower and other power ups might not be able to combine. Magic A does not equal Magic B even if both are in the same continuity.

Uh, you don't just "no-sell" transmutation or Gravity Manipulation. Has Mario ever shown a resistance to such techniques? I actually seem to specifically remember from RPGs and the like he is definitely not immune to transmutation, so he could be turned into an orange.

Because they're both the same Mario and the only reason they have different pages is to clear up space. No different between child and adult Naruto. It's written on the profile.

Yes. Dude, it's on the page.

He's only immune to Transmutation with the Super Suit which he does not start with, and it will take time to put that on. During that time he could be hit with the magic. Regardless of that point, I did miss his immunity to Gravity Manipulation, and I apologize. Either way, again, how does he escape being sealed inside the Moon for 1000 years?
