A prediction like it wouldn't be held in high regard for nothing, it makes perfect sense that only a part of it was wrong. And again the thing losing power can easily be its own fault, its elaborated requirements not being met or challenged and so this happens.

What even was Mario's wish? If it was only for Peach to be safe then that has no reason to not be a one-time thing.

Why does it make perfect sense? And you know that those requirements not being met is because of the heroes changing the destiny foretold by the book, as explained by Tippi there

its for her to be safe in general, not a one time thing
