I don't know enough about Typhus to say if it would work. Is Typhus sadistic at all? I'd wait until someone knowledgeable shows up.

Typhus gets possessed. Lucius's ability used to be stricter, but now it seems that requirement is a thing of the past. He possessed a necron, which are known for being utterly emotionless, and a guy who didn't even know he existed.
