I think the Mag 5 end works best so far but I'd like to see 4.5 and 5.5 respectively before I make my decision.
Okay, just gonna plug in some #s real quick...

4.5 + (0.0238 * 0.2555) = Magnitude 4.5060809 at Epicenter
5.5 + (0.0238 * 0.2555) = Magnitude 5.5060809 at Epicenter

1.5 * 4.506 + 4.8 = 11.559
10^11.559 = 3.623e11 Joules, or high-end City Block level.

1.5 * 5.506 + 4.8 = 13.059
10^13.059 = 1.146e13 Joules, or high-end Small Town level.

Not entirely sure on the consensus, but it looks like we're at 6 to 7 votes for the feat

Hi.

I stand by the notion that this is a dodgy feat to apply, but I've returned after not getting notifications here forever. You should place your recalc in a blog so it can be formally evaluated and maintained for linking purposes, but as I previously said, I would go with Mag 5- your 8-A end. Did that calc of the explosion ever get done? I can't recall. If it did, I would approve of "At least [Explosion tier, you mentioned it being like 8-C to 8-B], likely 8-A".

Sorry about the notifications issue; have no idea what's going on w/that.

Sure, I'll get to putting those calcs into a blog as soon as I can. Also, I thought you were working on that explosion calc.

It just happens. I catch it quite quickly with important threads, not so much with stuff like this (no offense intended, by important I mean "the wiki might burn itself alive if someone doesn't do something").

Was I? It certainly sounds like something I'd agree to do. You probably provided it before, but could you provide me with the feat again?

I hear you; no problem

This is the explosion link from Celty's profile
The explosion seems to reach above the buildings. I wouldn't necessarily call those structures skyscrapers; most likely their some large, high end apartment bulidings and such. Celty's shadow does expand further. I'm not sure if that's the explosion causing it or if Celty's just being cautious.

Do we know:
  • What, if anything, this explosion destroyed?
  • Whether it was detonated on the ground or not?

I will note, that the answer to those previous questions can about triple the results, depending on what they are: that's still solidly within 9-A, but it is worth mentioning.

Failing that, I am back to the opinion that 8-A is probably right for the earthquake, and that the earthquake is probably an outlier. Sorry.

Thinking of getting a tally going; wondering if anyone's had a change in opinion or if I can go by previous posts?
