Lack of Need for Composite Pokemon Profiles

Probably should have made this sooner, but I believe the legendary pokemon profiles no longer need their composite status, due to the fact that by this point, most of them already have quite a bit of feats / information. The only exception I could think of is Darkrai, whose second tab differs quite a bit from his canon tab, but it may be still not quite enough to justify it really (5 abilities + completely different level of power, but I've seen other profiles been turned down despite being similarily different)

I should probably highlight this since they are rather popular...

Nah, go ahead and bring up anything you think can influence the thread, (if it gets too heated, we can just pm debate for a while.)

K

Firstly, you already know my stance on this without me even saying anything

Secondly, only real difference for the CT+Arceus are the tabs and abilities, as they're across the board multiversal at their peak.

That's the starting point.

First, ye.

Second, ye, that's the problem, not enough variation.

Essentially just limit it to games unless they're notable (alot are notable)

But...that's what we do already. I'm not sure what you mean by a lot are notable, because that undermines your point. Give an example on what you're suggesting. Who would be notable? Who wouldn't be notable?

Examples? I could think of something like GT Goku (notable) to Super Manga Goku (Not Notable).

Or like Red Adv (notable due to different backstory / team, etc) compared to someone like Pokemon Stadium Red.

Oh, you meant different profiles altogether if they're notable, and otherwise keep it to games. Yeah, no.

Let me put it into perspective of only game profiles:

The only Pokemon unaffected are: Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem Regigigas, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza.

Mewtwo is a brute. He doesn't even have teleportation. Let alone mind manipulation.

Deoxys can't regenerate.

The golems and the birds don't scale to Regigigas and Lugia respectively, the latter affecting every other legendary without feats.

No one is sub-rel except Rayquaza and Deoxys.

Surprisingly Arceus isn't hit hard, if at all.

For now at the very least until others come, I agree with Cal for those exact same reasons. We'd be getting rid of considrably a lot of stuff for the legendaries.

Hmmm I see, that's... quite an impact... though I think a few of them have enough feats to gauge them luckily.

Here's the Legendary Pokemon with feats (excluding the god tiers):

AP: Moltres, Lugia, Groudon, Regigigas, Reshiram, Xerneas, and Yveltal

Speed: For the most part, doesn't matter, as a majority are scaled to Shaymin, who in game is MHS+.

The problems with this are...

Moltres' feat is High 7-A. Same tier as Mega Pokemon.

No one sans Ho-Oh scales to Lugia. Birds only fight him in the anime.

Only the respective trios (+ Deoxys) scale to the rest. Screwing over:

Mewtwo, Mew, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Cresselia, Darkrai, Keldeo, Genesect, Diancie, and Magearna.

Not sure if the first should be a problem, as wouldn't it just suggest that the height of pokemon could possibly reach the lower boundaries of legendary pokemon? Or that Moltres should be At least High 7-A?

Not sure if the Lugia thing would also be a problem.

Mewtwo was stated to be more powerful the the kanto legendary pokemon no? And the rest might be a problem huh, how were they scaled before?

Because they're the lowest feat-wise, so everyone else gets scaled from that, due to the simple fact that its incredulous to think otherwise.

So then why would the other pokemon get screwed over, if they still can compare to the birds?

I mean, I get that, but they would at least till have accurate stats game wise.

Anyway, Pokemon is definitely more than just a game canon wise.

Also, how come another verse I'm not allowed to mention in this thread can get away with it ovo

To be perfectly honest (i've been meaning to say/ask this lately), why should Pokemon really even have a set canon at all? Of course im not saying the games can't be taken over the anime and manga first because they can and should, but given the fact that Pokemon is a multiverse, what would stop us from saying they don't have a set canon but IF it did the games would be taken more since it came first?

I agree with Cal here. I'm against separating the canons like this. I feel like things are fine as is honestly.

Sort of like the lack of well taken care of TES profiles

just kidding, I agree there's gotta be some more sooner or later
Dont get me started on TES profiles on a pokemon thread.

As for the op, I am fine with composite pages. It will downgrade alot of pokemon and tbh, all the media are 'linked' with one another.

I would be fine if all the games didnt have nods towards eachother, but they do.

Same with the anime and specials, all mention in some form or another eachother either in pithy sentences or major events (such as the creation of Mewtwo).

Tldr keep the composite tabs.

@Dragon I get that, however, there is no need for most of them, ones like Ash's are at least notable and have differing stats, whereas most of the profiles that have composite stats here don't differ much outside of stats.

@Professor, because the game canon is the main canon? We can't just say there is no set canon for no reason.

@All of the guys agreeing with Cal, do you guys have any reason for keeping composite stats?

@Kink

The games have nods to everything else? Or everything else to the games (One is a link, another is called being an adaptation).

By connecting the continuities, the pokemon trainers profiles needs a revision. Once i had revised them everything about them will be concluded and resolved.

@SD. Firstly, stats are everything. Secondly, I already gave a big explanation for Mewtwo on how literally half of his powers, along with his claim to fame, are anime first.
