The purpose of this thread is to upgrade both Kano and Kotal Kahn's Attack Speed to the Speed of light.

Kano's eye laser fits the properties of a laser for all intents and purposes, one of his moves is even called Eye Laser: https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Kano

Kotal Kahn's race can manipulate and direct sunlight as a weapon, an ability that Kotal himself possesses: http://***************.to/Comic/Mortal-Kombat-X-I/Issue-7?id=16608

In conclusion, Kano and Kotal Kahn should both have Speed of light attack speed on their profiles.

Alright, I already notified the other Mortal Kombat knowledgeable members. So I'll just wait for them to respond to this thread.

I have seen the Kano's Eye Laser feat numerous times before. Kotal Kahn directly weaponizes Light itself.

I am working on another MK calc, so we might get more evidence regarding this topic.

That's cool.

Not all lasers are Relativistic, and i do not think sunlight is treated as such since the Dark Souls profiles lost the Rela sunlight speed ratings.

Kano's laser fits the description for this sites laser qualifications.

Why did the Dark Souls profiles lose those ratings exactly?

Nevermind that second point, I just did some research. The reason why the Dark Souls profiles were downgraded was because the sunlight spear light didn't behave like actual light. Which isn't the case here, since Kotal utilizes actual light from the Sun.

I don't mind if Kano's profile isn't revised, that's not particularly important. But Kotal's revision is definitely necessary.

Does it fits them all?:

Most lasers in fiction are not real or provable as real. Often they are supernatural in nature and do not function anywhere close to how real light should. Therefore, lasers/light beams are only accepted as real if they meet, at a minimum, a few of these criteria:

  • The beam refracts in a new material, such as a liquid or...
  • The beam reflects off a material that it can be expected to, such as a non-magical mirror
  • The beam is called lightspeed by credible scientific sources
  • It is stated to be made of photons or light itself, again by a credible scientific source
  • It has its origin at a realistic source of light, such as a camera
Furthermore, there are a few criteria which show a beam is NOT real light:

  • It is shown at different speeds in the same material
  • It is tangible and can be interacted with physically by normal humans
  • They do not travel in straight lines (unless you can prove refraction/reflection, see above)
For Kotal, is there an another profile that has Rel. via sunlight?.

Kano's laser doesn't match many of the qualifications, so it looks like that's a dead end.

Fortunately, I was able to find a profile with Speed of Light attack speed from solar rays: https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Nemesis_Star

It needs further approval, especially for Kano's laser.
A total of three Mortal Kombat knowledgeable members have agreed to Kotal Kahn's Attack Speed revision. Can Kotal be upgraded now?

Seems right, but i'd like a calc of the speed of the sun beam he used to burn Rain, just for more confirmation, here is the calc group.

@dark i am probably going to publish the MK speed calc i was working on later today, it only scales to Old Timeline characters though.

Kotal burned Rain with a solar beam? When did that happen?

Also, why is a calculation necessary for an Attack Speed upgrade for Kotal via solar rays?

Dark649 said:
It happened here , its because i want to be more sure about it.
Oh, I didn't know about that until now.

Anyways.

Dude; we both know that this feat isn't going to be calculated anytime soon, and I wanted to get this revision done.

You and multiple other Mortal Kombat knowledgeable members agree with this revision. So why can't you revise Kotal's profile now?

Actually, i can calc the Solar Ray speed, but i need some time.
I really don't want to have to go through all of that. It's just Kotal's Solar Ray Attack Speed and we all agree on the Revision. So why is a calculation even necessary?
