I don't see what more there is to say. The authors of JTTW did not intend to write fiction. When they talk about dharmakaya they were not thinking "so remember, this is the dharmakaya according to us, not the real dharmakay of the IRL religion". They were taking the religious conceptions of their environment and incorporating them into the mythical narrative of Sun Wukong. There is no distinction.
