JoJo AP Downgrades

Actually, the characters are rated as 8-A thanks to Star Platinum and how, until he absorbed Joseph's blood, Dio was > his Part III self, hence the 8-A scaling applies to Part I characters.

@Azzy No problem. Can we close this now?

I thought DIO got stronger after absorbing Jonathan's blood not weaker. Wasn't there WoG saying that DIO was a "more perfect being" than Kars after taking his body?

Plus everything I've found has suggested DIO got stronger after the absorption.

That's about the reasoning there from what Ever said, yes.

Dio in Part 3 was also able to take hits from SP while he had Jonathan's body, which was not as powerful as his original one but was durable enough to not become blood paste. So.....there;s kind of that.

And idk if this a thing, but i think it's also because those like Part 1 Dio and Jonathan shouldn't be weaker than the likes of Joseph and Caesar who fought the Pillarman who are supposedly very powerful beings themselves in the JJBAverse.

Well like I said, there's the quote that DIO got significantly stronger after getting Joseph's body. I'll try to find it if needed.

But I think there is an undeniable gap between Joseph and Jonathan. Jonathan, while he did react to it, failed to dodge the Space Ripper Stingy Eyes. Joseph not only dodged them, but did so at point-blank range. And then proceded to react to light.

For that one, AMM mention that to me a long while back while we were adjusting the JJBA profiles here. IDK how much of this would be since if possible, that would make DIO at the end of part 3 after taking Joseph's blood and all 7-C+ or something. Hmmm.....

True. Jonathan did barely dodge and reacted to Dio's SRSE's...

I feel like it should be mentioned that Hamon breathing is manually needed to sustain the stats (unless you took the training) and while it should be automatic for Jonathan, it could be possible that lack of constant use (like how Old Joesph needs to initiate Hamon breathing rather than it being automatic) makes it have to be manual again.

That and the fact that he was distracted by Erina calling him.

Which would explain why he could barely react to the SRSE.

(Correct me if I'm wrong, not an expert in this verse.)

Although, there is one question I have. Most of Part 2 is based on the fact that pillar men > vampires, however, wouldn't Dio be a special case? He did drain the blood of an entire town of people, not to mention the gap between regular vampires, Dio freshly vampirized, and Dio (Post Blood drinking) is literally 9-A to 8-A.

That's not mentioning the fact that while Santana was superior to Joesph (At the time), he still was on his level. Despite Joesph's Hamon being relatively weak at that time. It makes little sense that Joesph would be stronger than someone like Will who has for more mastery.
