Kind of off-topic but not really; how would that work in VS matches? From the look of the scans, some of them seem to use Tao to do some basic elemental stuff, I assume basic ass resistance to those would work or not?

Attacks that specifically target one's Tao cannot be circumvented by things like basic soul resistance because that'd be hitting a Type 1 Concept, but the Elemental abilities or shockwaves created from Tao can be resisted with basic resistances, because those don't specifically target ones Tao.
