Since this thread wasn't closed I'm going to ask if this feat would count as Instinctive Reaction, since Jean instinctively protected herself with a shield while she was in danger when she didn't know how to control her powers or what she was doing.

She should also have Pain Manipulation since when Professor X tried to enter into her mind he was suffering pain and was knocked unconscious as well

It might, but it may just be her activating her powers when her life was also threatened. If she has another example I think including auto-barriers would be alright though.
