It is deconstruction?

From what little I remember of Kekkaishi, they're not dissassembling or deconstructing anything within their kekkai, but rather are collapsing them. Doing so potentially crushes anything within it, which is the main method of attack they use. That's why some Ayakashi can survive being crushed by a single kekkai, and is the reason techniques like the multi-layered kekkai and spear kekkei are created in-verse. It's also notable that the power of the kekkai is dependent on the kekkaishi creating it, so I doubt they're literally deconstructing targets.

Granted it's been a while since I read that series, so take anything I've said on it with a grain of salt.

EDIT: Will be gone for a while. I don't expect I'll have much more to say on the subject but I'll check back in a while to see if anyone addressed me specifically.
