Issues with Avatar Profiles

The title makes this thread simple, there are various profiles for the verse that are utterly lacking and filled with seemingly unsupported nonsense. The main offenders being Vaatu and Raava it seems like they received multiple powers and abilities without a CRT even being made.


Lots of citation is needed here and the profiles are severely lacking them, this mainly applies to the power's and abilities for both characters.

• Type 8 Immortality: This needs citations and scans in the profile itself. All that's noted is that they will exist as long as the other does, nothing more is said about them. So this clearly needs to be explained properly or it needs to go.

• Low-Godly Regenerationn: The same as above, it was randomly slapped there without any evidence or citation. The profile even notes that she can be killed through disintegration, which automatically debunks Low-Godly, so at best this is non-combat applicable Resurrection.

All of this needs sufficient proof for it to be on the profile ( which are very poorly managed btw. ) as for the AP i don't even think "covering the world in darkness" is an actual AP feat.

-I don't see what's lacking about their type 8. Raava and Vaatu are the light and darkness that makes up the Avatar Universe and one can never be destroyed as long as the other lives. If Raavas destroyed, light grows inside Vaatu until she reemerges. And vice versa for Vaatu. Though I do agree scans to put on the pages would be better (as it always is).

-Same thing for low-godly. I agree its not combat applicable but Raava and Vaatu revive as literal pure light and darkness within the others soul.

The AP is listed as "via environmental destruction" so it doesnt directly scale to them.

Light-based elemental Regenerationn like that is actually a High feat, not enough to be labeled as light. Not to mention Regenerationn doesn't even seem like the right term to use here, it's much more akin to simple resurrection, the same thing essentially but it's more accurate for that.

What circular reasoning? At worst the Type 8 is explained in the PnA section under Low Godly and still gets explained in the weaknesses section regardless.

It says cover the world in darkness and reshape it. Seems simple to quantify.

They simply link to each other with no citation in the profile. It's vague and needs an actual explanation. And I've already pointed out the fault with low-godly Regenerationn, it's much more akin to simple Resurrection.


The former is what's unquantifiable, don't misconstrue my argument. Never once mentioned the latter for a reason. Even then it needs a calculation to even be on the profile. And how is the life wiping done?

I don't care about the Low Godly, just pointing out that it explains the Type 8.

I'm not misconstruing anything. You are the one who left out the latter half of the statement which is where the rating comes from and phrased it as if covering the world in darkness was the only reason for the ED. The first half is there because it is part of what Vaatu was doing so it was put in the justification. No, it really does not. If someone is stated to destroy or do something, we can slap on the appropriate tier without a calc as you can't calc something that isn't shown/doesn't happen after all.

Firstly the sarcastic tones really aren't appropriated, try to take it down a notch mate.


Which means squat when it's not elaborated on, and has no direct statements or scans linked in the profile for support. But I trust Kukui has the proper scans needed, so irrelevant at this point.


Again, that's most definitely misconstruing my argument. I left out the latter part due to it having a better reason than "covered in darkness." And no, your also wrong here as well mate. That's only if we have previous calcs, I.E Planet destruction, grazing, life wiping, etc. Time frames and methods of destruction is needed, and unfortunately we don't have any calc for reshaping the Earth, so that's unquantifiable until a value is found for such a feat. You can't just go "Hey this looks and sounds like 6-A so it has to be 6-A!!"

To be fair, Avatar scans are difficult to come by since the episodes aren't easily accessible unless you go to your typical anime site that, hopefully, provides the cartoon. So its somewhat understandable that there aren't scans in the pages. But I obviously agree with Prince that scans would definitely make the justifications better, like always.

Luckily, I believe I have the episodes of Legend of Korra downloaded to PC that contains the statements for their T8. If so i'll make clips and post them on vimeo.
