In a simple game like a platformer, or any game that would not have the characers or world focus on how the intangibility works, would the characters be immediately aware of them being able to touch enemies? In many games you can still attack while intangible but would this translate to the character konwing they can do such a thing once they enter that state? Phasing through solid matter would put that potential assumption to them perhaps?
