Well, here it is. My first vs match since the forum move. Here's hoping I don't screw the formatting up.

The Earth looked unrecognizable.
The blood red sky hung over the world like a bloodied ceiling, only occasionally masked by black clouds and crimson lightning. Craters littered the continents where great cities once stood, some having been built over again after decades of hard work.
New urban landscapes sprawled across the ground, moulded into shapes that would've taken humans decades to create, formed out of materials humans simply couldn't build with.
The grandest of these cities was the one they called Empire City. Identifiable even acrossed the oceans by the stormy clouds that perpetually swirled overhead. It was the heart of this new world, the capital of the Earth.
The birthplace of The Beast, Ground Zero of the first blast. The home of Cole MacGrath.
~
Cole MacGrath reclined on an old couch, staring up the swirling vortex of clouds in the sky. Red lightning flickered between his fingertips, warming up the beer in his hand. The stained couch smelled of rot, the old mannequins looked like zombies after being abandoned for so long. The TV blared static. Keeping it running was trivial for him these days, even if he knew it would never play anything again.
This old rooftop felt so empty without Zeke.
Cole sighed as he got up, casually swigging the beer in one gulp before tossing it aside. He knew he'd have to demolish this place eventually. Bury it with the rest of his old memories and replace it with a newer building to fit the rest of the city. But, today was not that day.
He had work to get done. An empire to run. Laws to pass. Rivals to subjugate. The past would still be there to haunt him when he got back.
The radio on his chest crackled to life in a fit of static. "My lord! You have a visitor."
~
The air in the room was tense and still. Comduits of all kinds, with powers over elements undiscovered by man, glared at the intruder. Watching his every move, ready to act if he so much as walked to quickly.
If Thanos of Titan believed they posed any threat, he didn't act like it.
"Your technology is quite advanced, given your Empire's relative youth." Thanos remarked polite as he gazed out at Empire City from the Throne Room window, though there was still a tone of condescension to it. "There's plenty of room for improvement. Give me a day with your engineers, and I'll give you a far more efficient design."
Red lightning crackled and popped in the air as The Beast materialized in his throne. All the Conduits turned to bow to their master, even as Thanos stayed facing the window, arms crossed behind his back.
"So, a big pink titan in a gold outfit with delusions of grandeur..." Cole remarked dryly, head lazily resting on his fist. "Let me guess. Thanos, right?"
Thanos smirked as he turned his head back. "I see my reputation proceeds me." Thanos turned around, no less boastful then he'd been moments before. The confidence he carried in the presence of this realm's ruler would've come off as foolish coming from anyone else. "And you are Cole MacGrath. The Demon of Empire City. The Beast of New Marias. And-"
"And the Slayer of Thanos of Titan. Yeah, I get the picture." Cole shifted his weight to his other hand. The crackling of red electricity surging up his arms was the only indication he was taking Thanos seriously. "Alternate timeline? Time travel?"
"The former, although I have been involved in the latter." Thanos paced back and forth, never taking his eyes off The Beast. "Allow me to cut to the point. You took this universe's Infinity Gauntlet from my counterpart when you defeated him. And, although it is infinitely weaker than my world's Infinity Gauntlet, it lacks the weakness of only being usable in its home universe, making it the perfect tool to defeat The Avengers of my world with."
"So you can complete the Infinity Gauntlet of your world and use it to wipe out half the universe." Cole stood up, drawing his amp from his back. "Like I told the other you, not happening."
Thanos grinned even as The Beast's guards closed in on him. "You misunderstand. I am far stronger than the paltry Avengers of this Earth." His tightened his fist and raised it to the sky. "Allow me to demonstrate."
The Mad Titan brought his fist to the floor, reducing it to dust.
The tower crumbled like cheap paper mache, hard concrete and stone reduced to smoke by godlike power. The shockwave alone obliterated all who stood in the room with him.
Thanos dusted himself off as Cole reformed from the smoke. "Now, do we have terms?"
Cole sighed. "You know, my Thanos did the exact same thing at the start of our fight." The black clouds above roared as thunder struck down around them. "Take a guess how that went for him."
Thanos walked through the rubble, unintimidated. "That's fine. I'll just repeat the question to your grieving followers."
