Light was given 15 minutes to get what research he can on The Judge and gets a gun during a recess

The Judge is unaware of Lights intentions to kill him.

Takes place in the courthouse

If he can't get his name by the end of the 15 minutes. Then he has to resort to killing him by his own means.

The Judge has access to one Revolver or Pistol from evidence and his Gavel of course (cause disincluding that would be wrong)

Speed is equal

Who wins and why?

A young Brat: 1

I mean I'm pretty sure that in fifteen minutes Light could just...ask around, do some quick research, anything along those lines just to get the guy's name. It shouldn't be that difficult I wouldn't think.

The judges name has been an aluding mystery due to his really poor handwriting. Anywhere he has written his name has been apparently terrible. Like Phoenix brings up. So it wouldn't be as easy as that. Not that figuring out his name is an impossibility. Definitely possible especially if he had enough time. Thing is, considering if his time is enough. I made it 15 cause that's about how long a recess is.

I mean he could just walk up to the Judge and ask him, since he doesn't know about the death note or that he's out to kill him. Or not ask and just shoot him instead.

Fifteen minutes is more than long enough to find iguee out the dude's name. He could just use the internet, and look up the courthouse and stuff.

For a normal person sure. The judge however is far trickier than your giving credit for. He is known to as Judge basically in the courthouse and even out at this point. Like when he went on vacation, he still was referred to as the judge? Brought his gavel along, and as well as his Judge robes. There's only one place that could offer a way to get his name in the form of the card he gave to Phoenix before. But the Writing wasn't readable.

Not saying it's impossible for Light to figure it out. Should he get his hands on this card. He could do a process of Elmimation of sorts and try and figure his name by those means. Tho it will still leave him with a a list of names to figure from. And Ace Attorney character names tend to be kinda unorthodox and strange

If he works for the government they have his name listed. Also nothing still stops him from just asking the dude his name...at all. He could just ask the judge for his name and he would be like yeah sure.

The judge again likes to be referred to as the judge. Both as a sign of his position and respect, and cause that's clearly what he favors for him to be called. Since it's at the courthouse, asking isn't going to get good results and even less likely to get a real name from him. If it was more public, then it could be more casual which would make more sense, but there he is the judge and that's what he wants to be called. Else he would basically be referred to as the judge even outside of cases.

They do have his name listed. It is just not readable. Or is difficult to read. It's brought up by Phoenix.

Also, he would need first either Internet access (which the court hasn't actually shown to have computers or such things), or to sneak his way to get files on the judge, find his name. And do it in under 15 minutes. And that would cause problems with the fact he probably would run into issues on the guards who keep track on evidence and files. Without a badge, he wouldn't have legal right to look at the files. Which is a problem

Except he doesn't have that type of phone. He has a flip phone. And a phone would make it immensely harder to do the research. Would take a lot more time. Assuming he could find the information at all. He doesn't have a lot of time to look. Give him a day and that's definitely more plausible. But this is a 15 minute recess he gets to look.

Dude it doesn't take that long to find someone's name. Nor does it take that long to go to any other person besides the judge and ask for their phone. And does Light just not have a phone or something?

And it wouldn't take Light very long to find out how to work a flip phone either way. He's a genius for crying out loud.

And again. It can take a bit if that persons name is unknown to basically all the people there, as he likes to go by judge by any person in the court, even by the police, meaning he isn't getting it from that means.

Isn't going to get much help from other people cause they also use flip phones. So that's the only phone he is limited to assuming other people even let him borrow their phone. As people tend to be using it in between cases.

And not the fact of figuring it out. The time it takes to use a flip phone. Those things aren't easy to use aside from making calls and sometimes playing games like Tetris. But researching on that thing in to find someone's name who most other people don't know, the places and files on his name aren't readable on what his actual name is, and a flip phone is crap when it comes to actually loading.

Plus he needs to figure out where to even start. And again. Has only 15 minutes. Using a flipphone isn't going to work out. Those things are basically strictly for calling. Using searching and researching is the worst thing one can do. Assuming it's the type that even has that capability. Cause some don't.

Literally you could just search the courthouse and they have to put his name down. You can't just call someone a nickname on a legal government website. That's not how that works.

Also why is everyone using flip phones?

Except. He isn't a Attorney or officer. He wouldn't have access to files on anyone. Heck, attorneys have trouble getting files. Phoenix had to ask Gumshoe for the evidence and files for the DL-6 Case when he was working the case. Yet he needed an officer to get it. And he only got it because he was on the case. Had he not; then it ain't legal for him to get them. Assuming they had a site, and assuming The judges actual name is labeled on the site, the professional site would be to complex for a Fliphone to show. A Fliphone isn't meant to do searches on the web. They are meant to make and take calls. They ain't equipped to handle a complex site like one for a courthouse. A mobile iPhone or something of such levels would be more doable. And those still have trouble since it often goes to the mobile site version which can limit some options. And that's with a phone he doesn't even have access too.

And Cause that's What Ace Attorney people use. Maya, Phoenix, Gumshoe. Ect. It's just the kind of phone used. Nobody has shown to use any kind of fancy mobile phone, iPhone, or other kind of phone. Just flipphones

When has it been shown that they use only flip phones? Also, in Apollo Justice, doesn't the courthouse literally have like holographic technology either way? Ace Attorney has shown to be a little more futuristic in certain cases. I'm sure *someone* has a device that can look st the internet.

In what game were they shown using only flip phones? Just curious. Either way this looks like it could have internet searching capabilities: https://aceattorney.fandom.com/wiki/Missing_Cell_Phone

Also they'd have to have a site. Any self respecting courthouse would have a site. They'd have to list his legal name because that's how that stuff works. You can't just have a list of several judges that work at a courthouse and have one of them just be named "Judge". I just looked up the closest courthouse near me and they list full names of every judge that works there.

Also the power of the Death Note would be useful here either way. If he can't use the computers, get the name of someone who has access and let him look into the files. If they have access to a computer Light can write down their name and make him access the courthouse website and therefor he'd learn the judge's name.

Also im pretty sure Light has a phone, yeah? Probably something more than a flip phone too.

Despite he future like tech they have. They aren't very advanced with the types of phones they use. And we can't assume someone would have that kind of tech without actually seeing tech like that and he being able to get his hands on it

And most of the earlier games. Honestly I didn't catch up a lot with the games involving Apollo. So I won't lie that I missed them using those kinds of phones. A more advanced version I won't lie. But still pretty pretech. And not a good phone to be using to research. But most people are shown using Fliphones. Like Maya's phone. Their phones aren't really advanced.

That's how it works in the real world. But Ace Attorneys law system works very differently. Plus. All of it is useless less Light can get access to a Phone that actually can use a search engine properly. Cause the courthouse hasn't shown to have computers. And he doesn't have forever. Assuming he even immediately goes for trying to find this out: a flip phone isn't doing the job fast enough, and he has to worry about the guards and police to even get close to the files. And should he get the files, he also has the fact The judges name is poorly written and would need to dicpher it. Tons of stuff to do assuming he immediately went for that option.

He has a Flip phone

I don't think you understand that a judge would not physically write his name down in a file. that stuff is typed on a computer. Assuming that a courthouse doesn't have a computer is a little ridiculous either way. You need one of those no matter what, really. At the very least he could get a laptop or something.

Get the name of someone who has access to the files and write his name in a death note. Specifically write down get the files with the judges name on them. Badass bing badda boom. He wins.

Damon Gant has literally both the entire police department and prosecutors office under his thumb and used to casually hang out with the judge on a regular basis. Even HE, doesn't know the Judge's name.

And this is Damon freaking Gant we're talking about. The guy who, in the span of minutes, came up with a plan to kill a fellow officer, frame a prosecutor's sister, manipulate said prosecutor into framing a serial killer, thereby allowing him and the prosecutor to simultaneously get elected to the head's of their respective offices, thereby giving Gant complete control over the police force and prosecutors office whilst simultaneously eliminating a major thorn in his side. If Damon Gant can't find out the Judges real name in the span of years, Light's not gonna figure it out in minutes.

Except nobody has shown to use those things in the courthouse.

And really. The courthouse doesn't have a reason to assume it does have a computer. There's never any mention of it. And what we know of the courthouse is that all 9 courtrooms are identical and don't have any computers or laptops and then the room they keep evidence. But they don't keep it computer filed. So there isn't a reason a computer would be there either. And considering the Judge is baffled by technology like computers

And if he got the make of someone who has access to the files. That still doesn't give him access. He would need to get to where the files actually are. Or do it online. Which we have established he can't do to lack of tech

then he walks up to him and shoots him, since the judge doesn't even know someone is out to kill him. i don't really know why this is a fight tbh

Does Light have guns that can harm Megajoule level 9-B's?

"...and gets a gun during a recess

The Judge is unaware of Lights intentions to kill him."

Even if it couldn't, couldn't Light just point it at the Judge and order him to tell him his name? Just because he's not gonna get oneshot by it, doesn't mean he knows it.

And why would Light try that as opposed to just shooting him? Judge finds out that the bullets don't hurt and thus has no reason to talk. Light doesn't know that the Judge is superhuman after all, might as well take the simple route.

Plus. The fact he wouldn't even have time. He realistically would try his book by trying to find out his name. And if he failed to. He didn't have enough time to begin with to get a gun. so he of course couldn't get a gun with less time.

He already has a gun though. He doesn't need to get one.

No he doesn't. His profile doesn't suggest or say he has a gun with him. His standard equipment is the death note.

Well. A thing to also take in mind of that outcome.

Light points the gun. The judge pulls out a gun. Cause he has access to a gun or revolver. I'm sure we know who wins a shoot off there.

The death note can manipulate a persons actions before they die, so what if Lights obtains the alias, then writes "he shoots himself" or something?

So, for one, Light is quite an intelligent person.

...and Light could seriously just walk up to Judge and ask for his name.

Voting Light, borderline stomp.

"What's your name."

"The Judge."

"No, your name."

"All you need to know is that I'm the Judge."

Seriously, that won't work.
