Wouldn't that mean Luffy would blitz the moment he starts transforming? Speed being equalized means Ichigo would be starting at Luffy's base speed, in that case ( I think).

I mean that's mitigated by the fact that Luffy is like, 4x his value In G5. I doubt the battle would come down to attrition in the first place.

I think it's more fair that Ichigo gain a possible wincon of outlasting him, than Ichigo getting the Blueno treatment the moment Luffy goes Gear Second.

I don't think that's the case at all. If base Luffy is stuck fighting someone with the speed of Gear 5th with speed amps on top of that, the most he can do is Future Sight and Inshallah

But that is opposed to Ichigo being at Base Luffy's speed, while Luffy uses his multiple blitz tier amps due to gears + Soru. Which is where I'm concerned! But if his Ichigo has comparable speed amps, as Arc mentioned, then forget I said nothin'.

I think Ichigo wins. Sure he may have a disadvantage in ap, but he has other things going for him. He still has the Blut defenses to close and surpass the gap, Getsuga Tenshou also closes the gap, he has reactive evolution as well, and other means to close it. Also, he has the Hollow Poison... and actually, I check the profile quickly, but Luffy doesn't seem to have soul manipulation resistances.

The manga doesn't always directly show usage of Blut, the panel in question of Yhwach doesn't. He was clearly shown defending against GT as well.

He was standing in proximity of them, in addition to also being caught in the initial blast. Even if you argue he didn't, that resistance would still be far above anything Luffy has done.
