How old does a thread have to be before you can’t comment on it?

I’m unsure, and can’t seem to find a page that gives me my answer, so I figured i’d ask myself.

It is less about age and more if it’s outdated.
Older threads are just more likely to be outdated.

Well, by that, what makes a thread or battle “outdated”?

For example, is this thread outdated, or do I just not comment on it since it’s old?

Well i’m asking what makes a thread outdated. As in, what’s discussed isn’t relevant anymore, the information/profiles used in the thread are old and therefore unusable, what?

Mostly profile changes making the set-up unfair.
