How do you get around Highway to Hell and what are its limits?

So Thunder has been used multiple times in vs battles thread and I patriated in a few of them. That being said I don't know how a character can get around it besides not being alive or something.

Does it have unlimited range? Does it require the opponent to be doing the damage (aka would getting thunder to kill himself work)? If Thunder is an unwitting trance when he dies, would he be able to use HTH or does the stand attack weither or not Thunder wills it?

Also I did read the description, but I am still confused. What are the ability's limits?

It's literally just Attack Reflection and Death Reflection that Thunder abuses by killing himself so that he can also kill his target. It can also reflect physical forms of incapacitation if it hurts Thunder, too (like, roping him would also cause you to move as if you were roped, too).

So if someone gets Thunder to kill himself in a trance were he has no will to attack or harm anyone...what happens? Sorry I am easily confused

I don't know. It shouldn't work as there's no target but I'm not sure if the stand's just going to kill the closest person or something regardless. We only see TMQ in 3-4 chapters, so we don't really see him for long.
