I could not find any discussion threads (I barely looked) for movies like F13th, Elm Street, Terrifier, etc; so I decided why not bring it altogether?

A discussion thread to talk about all horror movies old and new. A couple to list Terrifier, Scream, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th.

I've noticed there isn't a category for the final girl trope so I made a crt for that.

Is this consistent? And is the comic canon?
Its not consistent. Ordinary humans have on occasion given him trouble, and even overpowered, him one on one. And in the last film, he got blown to pieces with a grenade launcher. Victor's 9-B, but subsonic in reflexes since he reacts to a rpg in one of the films

Yeah I've seen multiple people discuss about it so I agree but I wanna know if the comics are canon

Anyways, my takes:

9-B John Carver
9-B Leatherface
9-A Jason
9-A Thorn Myers (maybe)
Green Myers needs a 9-C Weakened Key
2-C Freddy

There is some 2-A stuff for Freddy but why would he be 2-C instead of 2-A?

Why is John carver 9-B? And which timeline are you talking about specifically for Leatherface?

I agree with green Myers 9-C key and I want the older scans to return

Thorn Michael only tanked a portion of the hospital explosion and it was calced to wall level. Unless you're talking about a specific feat

9-B John Carver
Possibly. He was implied it have survived that huge explosion and also rammed through a wall of planks
9-A Thorn Myers (maybe)
Thorn Michael survived a portion of the explosion which was 9-A turned into 9-B. Unless the comics are canon in which he survived a 9-A explosion.
Green Myers needs a 9-C Weakened Key
Agree since he’s clearly pretty weakened Post 2018-Kills
2-C Freddy
Dream World, right?

Idk how you'd get 2-A Freddy. High-end interpretation imo is deep into 2-B from the "dream pool" containing dreams from the past, present, and future; and if you interpret each dream as its own infinite universe, then he's high multiversal. But if you want to be safe, he's just 2-C from various statements about him being the complete master of the dream world and it being at least a universe. Regardless, his scaling to the cosmology makes mountain level an extreme lowball.

Leatherface from the prequel game to the 2022 film. The director said the stuff from the other films could have happened, it's up to the viewer to decide what did. And the producer said that the previous films probably did happen. The canonicity of the game was discussed in this thread, but I think not having licensing rights to the later stuff is a pretty lame reason to invalidate the intention of it being a prequel. A lot of these horror franchises have messy licensing, just look at Jason

I've personally calced the explosion Carver likely survived at 280+ KJ here

The explosion Loomis tanks in the H4 novel is much bigger than the one that grazes him on screen.

9-A Michael comes from the H4 novel, and honestly probably at least gets past 9-B from the teen novels
And yes Dream World and FvJvA and Nightmare Warriors

I got 2-A Freddy via there being infinity dimensions in dream world and Freddy having control over them as well due to stuff like infinity timelines in evil dead and the dream world being parallel to it so they also have infinity timelines. But eh the 2-C stuff seems good

Honestly it seems good enough for me and I prefer the movies having separate timelines

Then I agree with 9-B carver

It might need a calc and was he in the epicenter?

Is that from a novel? Can you post the scan?

There's already several separate profiles. We already accept ambiguously canon stuff with less backing like the Myers novels or Jason comics:
TCM 1-4
TCM 3D
2003 Reboot
DBD
2022
And with the new "Texas Chainsaw Legacy" film in the works that may or may not follow up 2022, it could be another profile

No I've linked my calc

alright fair enough And I was talking about h4 novel explosion

I have two takes:

1996 ghostface and all the other ghostfaces besides 2011-2023 and obviously roman Bridger shouldn't upscale the other previously movie feats since it could just be that Sidney just gained new feats after 1996

Patrick Bateman should be separated into different profiles

Yep. I think anyone that scales to Charlie should also get at least 9-C for him throwing a girl through a wooden door. I understand much of it is glass but door busting is like 300-500 KJ. Would be weird for about half of it being glass to reduce the feat by 90%

Glass doors are less thick and less durable than a wooden door, the wooden supports are also very small and thin

You can see that the thicker outer support also gets shattered. It would warrant imo at least an LS upgrade to superhuman since irl humans can't throw each other like that, let alone through doors

Superhuman is a far stretch. Marnie also weighs like average so I feel that someone with athletic human strength could replicate the same thing and like ShockingPsychic said, glass doors are less thick and less durable than wooden doors.

It's not a stretch at all

Strongmen compete with 101 lb washing machines, even running and jumping for momentum, and the winner tops at 14 ft. Unlike Ghostface, they're not throwing that weight through obstacles. As a fairly strong guy myself, I can't throw my 100+ lb dogs or sister more than a couple ft even swinging with momentum.

I think the Vs wiki simplifies with regards to the lower tiers since we're not considering stuff like leverage and stuff, but even generic feats like picking up people with one hand is pushing superhuman lifting strength, hence these guys who can casually break arms and throw people 20 ft away being "peak human."
