Honkai: Star Rail Discussion Thread

my biggest peeve is that we used to fight actual godlike creatures in amphoreus who had feats and statements behind them while planarcadia is complete opposite and mind you we didnt even job in amphoreus that isnt low 1C rock and flame reaver because im damn sure TB and Phainon were moving like crazy against aquila
I think if we went to planarcadia and then amphoreus things would be much much better

Amphoreus lowkey was TOOO early in the story. I think having at least 2 to 3 arcs before it, after Penacony, would have made things smoother from both a narrative and powerscaling standpoint.

Unless the writers are constantly pitting us against Emanators (who we haven't faced yet in Planarcadia), it's going to end up being weird to see the cast struggle to non-emanator folks. The writers kinda shot themselves in the foot by giving us an absurdly powerful foe this early in the plot. This leaves future opponents being much stronger than they honestly deserve.

It’s actually because the writers don’t suffer from powerscaling brainrot, especially in a world that’s comedic in tone.

TBF I highly doubt TB was going all out since well...those are mind-controlled teenagers. Otherwise, TB will pull a Phainon agaisnt those kids lol

Can't call it brainrot when it's the same issue from Invincible. The power levels are narratively inconsistent.

If this was the case they would have simply knocked them out early but the fans were genuienly strong enough that they had to get BFR’d away

Yea but powerscaling consistancy is actually a main power of story progression thats why people like crucified dbs when it dropped

This example means nothing to me. TB power is constantly in flux with some holding back added on. I mean don’t characters like Wally suffer from this to an even more extreme degree? I don’t see anybody bitching about that.

No one but powerscaling forums are looking at the story through this lens.

I’m still not seeing the problem with TB failing to murder people willy nilly. Maybe it was a mental issue that caused them to be overwhelmed. Or maybe TB power is constantly in flux depending on situation. It’s not really a big deal that breaks the logic of the universe

Again if he was strong enough she shouldve just knocked them out its the fact they needed to be BFR’d and explicitly saved by an outside source that means the highschoolers were actually putting bta

or maybe they didn’t want to beat up a bunch of teenagers and ruin the nameless street cred they worked so hard to build. I can make up reasons for why shit happens too

I get that, but we haven't had instances of pathstriders drastically varying in power like theyre green lanterns or whatever based on some condition. Plus if TB could just actively draw more power then needing to be saved wouldn't be on the table. After a certain point if youre much stronger than someone just subduing em would be easy. So to me I can't excuse inconsistency like this by thinking up a reason for this to occur.
Plus I'd say if TB is weaker post amphoreus thats important enough to be explicitly mentioned.

Knocking them out wouldnt ruin their reputation. Fighting them for as long as they did would hurt it more especially if they are supposed to be stronger than them its obvious the fans were just that strong 😭

Literally. I feel people forget the writers control the whole narrative and they don't actually have to write in them fighting someone who's logically far weaker than them.

Or literally just give enemies unique hax abilities via paths. IT'S BUILT INTO YOUR POWER SYSTEM, USE ITT.
