You know what they say, third time's the charm. After having been denied a match against Meliodas due to upgrades to this verse, and being denied a match against the Ifrit Golem due to upgrades to that verse, I may finally have a matchup that won't be spoiled by a sudden tier change. Hopefully.

This is because both of our combatants today scale from extremely similar feats, being able to practically benchlift the entire moon. While one of our guests stopped the moon from plunging into the earth, the other cut a solar eclipse short by pushing the moon out of the way of the sun. But which of these two have what it takes to knock the other out of orbit permanently? Today, we find out.

In the blue corner, we have Rom, The Vacuous Spider from Bloodborne, and in the red corner, we have Ifrit from Dragalia Lost.

  • This is a battle to the death or incapacitation. No holds barred.
  • Neither character are aware of each other beforehand, and there is no prep time.
  • Neither character are allowed any outside help, aside from Rom's summons.
  • This battle takes place at Moonside Lake, giving Rom the home-field advantage.
  • Speed is not equalized.
With all this being said, let the debate begin!

  • Great One: 8 (Sir_Ovens, Peppersalt43, Expectro2000xxx, Mariogoods, Naitodesu, XSOULOFCINDERX, AceOfSpaces3709, Sonicflare9)

Can Ifirt even see Rom? You need a certain level of Insight to see her. Insight is essentially madness, so you need to be properly mad in order to see and interact with her.

Not very familiar with Bloodborne but it says;
Invisibility (Great Ones and Kin are completely invisible to those lacking Insight, or knowledge of their existence)
SBA makes both fighters aware of each others existence, so wouldn't that mean Ifrit can see Rom?

SBA doesnt null passive invisibility
I'm not arguing it nulls anything, it says Rom is only invisible to those who lack insight or knowledge of her existence, Lfrit has the latter, so it's moreso a weakness of Rom's invisibility that's being exploited if anything.

That would mean Ifrit is dead at the very beginning

Due to the Madness Manipulation?

Probably, so it's a stomp then?

Actually on second thought, the OP specifically says that neither is aware of the other, so ignore my previous posts.

I am told that the latter half of the statement is BS and needs to be changed. You need Insight in order to see Rom in the first place, with prior knowledge or not.

That being said, he can still see the smaller enemies that Rom spawns in which he can attack, and both his standard attack style and his skill has a wide range, which means he can hit Rom even without seeing her, even if he just happens to be bumbling around most of the time taking out the smallfry. This also would prevent him from being effected by the Madness Manipulation as well.

Great Ones don't cause madness unless you're actively trying to see them or are interacting with one. That's why you only get Frenzy if you let the Amygdala at Oden Chapel pick you up.

No? According to the bloodborne lore th mere presence of the Great Ones in Yharnam is what caused the entire city to go mad and dvolve into the beast plague

I still think Rom takes this since she's invisible and Ifrit will go mad if he sees her.
