They are both strong human warriors, but even Gut's AP and dura is likely a bit higher than Talion's AP and dura. Human Talion doesn't have the wraith or the bow it gives him, so with his sword, Guts outranges him slightly as well.

Talion's flighty style of combat might throw Guts off momentarily, but Guts is no stranger to fancy bladework from his fights with that absolute bastard Griffith, so I doubt he would be distracted for long.

All in all, I'm willing to vote for Guts here due to slightly longer range, likely slightly higher AP and dura, experience with similar tactics/fighting style, and sheer tenacity.

Hate to vote against my man, but I vote Guts for reasons above. Without Celebrimbor, Talion doesn't have much he can do to fight Guts off.

Heck, if he HAD Celebrimbor, Dragon Slayer could probably harm him, too.

Talion has a Ring of Power and wraith abilities. He can also summon bodyguards and resurrect the dead.
Not at the beginning of Shadow of Mordor, he doesn't. Also, bumping concluded threads is a bit of a no-no
