Tbh. Goombas should scale to mid tiers. As shown in Bowsers minions when they can fight next to and on par with Koopa kids multiple times and is important to the plot to do so.

Gumball and his equipment are absolutely toast once he gets hit by the fire flower, mario is far more skilled and experienced than him so that won't happen
