Goku's light speed feat

Why is Goku BoZ/Dead Zone Goku only relativistic? He dodging the solar flare after Tein already starting in ball.

Goku seems to be already engulfed by the light by the time he grabbed Roshi's sunglasses, so Goku isn't dodging anything
He likely closed his eyes and used his ki or his sense of smell to locate Roshi and grab his glasses while his eyes are closed

We actually brought it up during the initial Roshi upgrade thread, and it was agreed to be a legit FTL feat, but it also seemed like it outlier for other reasons. It was difficult to get people upgraded to Moon level and Relativistic, so it's even harder to get them to FTL. And there was also Piccolo's moon busting feat getting a pretty good calculation; but forgot what it was now.

If I don't forget even people in DBZ get caught by Solar Flare.
I don't think using it as a legit speed feat is a good idea especially for OG DB.

Far more powerful characters across essentially all Dragon Ball media have been caught by the Solar Flare. The speed of the Solar Flare is not constant, and seeing as how it is created through Ki Manipulation, probably would not qualify for lightspeed anyway.
Solar flare is used only when an opponents guard is low and not expecting it so for the most part it's not dodged by ftl characters because they weren't focusing.

If relativistic ain't an outlier, neither is FTL

But this is anime Goku were talking about, a character who was large planet at this point and completly eclipses the power of his kid self. Also I won't say this feat is FTL in the manga since it could easily be aim dodging since goku has both shown to be able to dodge faster then Tien can activate techniques and knows what the solar flare is in that arc but since the anime filler says that he dodged it when after it's activated.

I could have sworn that the FTL interpretation for it was rejected in an even earlier thread. Since in the manga Goku did not necessarily wait until after the Solar Flare started moving to grab the glasses.

Yes, but this is an anime goku thread.

If this is Toei Goku, then the feat may be legitimate and not an outlier, although we would probably need to calc the feat.

For the Manga counterpart, aside the matter of that be an outlier or not, as far i'm aware Kid Goku only moved after Tien fired the Solar Flare.

Meaning he did technically outspeed the Solar Flare, but like in the case above we need to calc the feat to know how much fast he was moving.

I feel its weird or I feel its more like "FTE to Tien" rather than FTL. Since Goku was obviously hit by the solar flare (in fact he was seemingly always in the solar flare) still when he grabbed the glasses going by the animation. It might be better to calc his lightning crown dodges in Kami's Palace rather than go off of strange solar flare scaling.
