Does it sound like a reach? Yes. Is it likely? Also yes.
I think likely for you and likely for me is two different things.

Likely implies something of a greater likeihood then against, say anything beyond 51 percent.

I think this specific scenario has like a ten percent chance of happening, compared to if Goku just punced him alot really fast which is like...ninety percent.

One: if Laharl is in character, and it's not Disgaea 1 Laharl, he's probably not running around with a whole lot of extra items on hand.

Two: there aren't really items for giving temporary stat boosts that I can remember in the game. Magic Extracts and the like are a thing, in D5, but that's permanent and used out of combat.

Three: Both of the above are rather null and void in this instance, since if Laharl's running at full power, he almost certainly has picked up skills like Braveheart/Shield/etc. from some of the other demons in his army, since they can inherit one another's skills.

Four: It probably wouldn't be in character for him to use these sorts of spells/techniques straight-away, if he has comparable AP/Dura to his foe as he seems to here, what with being stubborn and proud and all. He'd probably start throwing them on if the fight dragged on long enough for Goku's reactive power level to get overwhelming, I suppose.

Five: If we are again going with a Full-Powered Laharl, then people who can throw out Big Bang are considered just about Fodder Tier. It's not like he's not casually far, far above baseline himself. (He's also usually portrayed as being a fair ways above the other protagonists from the assorted games, to my memory, the only notable exception being Disgaea 5's Killia who seemingly canonically cleared the Disgaea 1 DLC single-handedly. But I digress.)

So, at the end of the day, no matter the situation, we both believe that Goku could just punch him a LOT really really fast, to save him the trouble. Hence, taking down the threat without risking anything.

I mean, if we both believe that part, then I think that's good enough for me.

...probably Goku technically, at least using the profiles as they are on the Wiki right now? I'd probably vote for Laharl once his profile gets updated, but I'm still in the process of doing some research on what's missing from it.

Really, I'd rather just hold off on this thread entirely until then (I do like this match-up quite a lot, though)

Edit: This has been my Avi for like, three years. It's gotten to the point where people actively associate the white-haired Fighter class with me, lol. I've only just recently begun my playthrough of Disgaea 5, so that's why I've abstained from voting thus far...
