That's what we thought initially back when the tree was Low 1-C, but the issue is, once you go High 3-A, affecting it in any way, shape or form whatsoever would cause you to scale regardless, you'd be still within the tier of however many universes it holds or whatever higher dimension of power it is, but you'd backscale massively.

Of course, the minor damage isn't exactly particularly convincing once you get to the idea of Surtr whacking out the Asgardian Branch, and Jormie vs Thor shaking all the 9 Realms, plus there's Mimir also stating that in Ragnarok "their clash shakes the tree so violently that it splinters", and we both know violently shaking a tree isn't going to give you small splinters.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand googling "splintered tree" doesn't exactly give small damage results either. It's pretty jarringly devastating to look at.


Just use the fact that the splinter was completely random and it missed Sindri's house by mistake, plus, Sindri's house isn't the entire tree, the tree's way bigger than that. The splinter doesn't necessarily need to rip the entire tree in half, just leave a big-ass crack mark in it or something of a violent nature.

Of course, that is completely irrelevant considering just how utterly trivial the Tree is compared to Nidhogg, the Lindwyrms and Surtr.

Remnants of Asgard =/= the actual branch being obliterated, but it still happens as per the prophecy, as evident by the whole tree shaking to its roots and stuff.

Not exactly. Most Greek Gods kinda just inherit the titles of concepts that were around before they were born in simple terms. I'd imagine Egyptian GOW will only involve the only a few of the major deities who are almost all abstractions. I wonder if they are gonna explore how 4 major cities in ancient Egypt had different beliefs regarding the myth's creation stories.

Yggdrasil used to be Low 1-C. This was because of the card game, however, VSBW seems to believe that Ragnarok retconned the card games, but we won't truly know until a developer comments on it.
