Because it's called fake, but "fake" here doesn't mean "unreal." The stars are still real, which is why Skirk says the fake sky has the vastness and majesty of the real.


The stars are called fake because they are all a sky recreated by the Primordial One and contained inside an eggshell. A rewritten sky, which is why Columbina doesn't want to see it.

Yeah and them insta-locking people from doing th Selenic Chronicles because of the Archon Quest was really annoying. They could've just excused it like "oh you remember when this happened with Columbina" or something, no need to straight up lock it until the next patch.
