Frieren: Lusia SOL Attack Speed

Introduction​

In this thread I wish to establish Lusia’s light magic as SOL off of its repeated descriptions as producing light, lightbeams, light flashes, manipulating refractions, and producing a light source. Lusia lacks a profile so this will have no immediate ramifications, but it will allow calculations to be made for Lawine’s blocking feats.

Light Statements​

• Produced a “blast of light”
• Produced a “flash of light”
• Produced “beams of light” x3
• Produced an “intense flash” of light that blinds Lawine
• Produced light “so bright, it felt like the sun had appeared directly in front”
• Can not only attack, but might also “produce a light source, or manipulate refractions, or something like that”

Light Properties Summary​

• Linear movement described as “beams” and omnidirectional “flashes” that doesn’t bend/curve outside of “refractions”
• Can blind opponents at high brightness
• Plausibly compared to real light source
• Is not physically interacted with outside of being blocked by magical shield spells
• Doesn’t show variable speed

Conclusion​

Lusia’s light magic should be recognized as SOL.

Who is Lusia? Do they appear in the manga? I'm not really familiar with this character, so I don't recognize the name. But overall, I agree with this thread.

She is another student mage at the Mage Academy (a peer of Lawine and Kanne) who serves as a kind of rich entitled rival antagonist.

She has so far only appeared in chapter 3 of the first prequel novel (so not in the manga).

That’s a good point, but we can handle that in a followup thread. Serie’s page is honestly missing a lot of abilities.
