Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Discussion Thread

Made an Übel page.

Also, Fern's sniping feat last chapter was absolutely insane, she's so impressive.
Guess what is left is the revamp for Serie’s profile

We got a skill feat for mages skilled being able to locate someone is blended with disorderly mana all around them. Also the flashback with Serie and Flamme was adorable

Does Freiren have all her stupid af magic slop listed yet, like magic that makes paper airplanes fly slightly further (why do they know what a plane is????).

Oh yeah, has anyone here ever wanted to know how strong the character's physicals are?: https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Flashlight237/Frieren_Calc:_Those_Damn_Mimics

Because I got mimics. And a white-haired dumbarse getting herself eaten by mimics...
she uses magic to cast a skintight defenses and has said she sometimes just blows mimics up if she cant get out and her defenses just lets her take the blast point blank.
Might be useful if anyone else has been eaten but I don't think so.

calc her LS tho, we can't let her be a LS fraud.

That was a good chapter, really liking how this arc is shaking up.
Agree. We have Serie feeling really old and more glimpse on how she felt about Flamme. More details on the Shadow Warriors and the potential of a three way war between the Continental Magic Association, the Imperial Mages and Shadow Warriors. Massive hype for this Lineal to get Serie of all people on her knees, even if once. And it seems that the friend Sein is looking for might be a part of this whole assassination attempt

The intersection of the Continental Magic Association, the Magic Special Forces, and the Shadow Warriors makes for a very interesting situation. The three big guns of each seem to be Serie, Fråse, and Löwe, though of course all 3 groups are filled with monsters among humanity.

Serie needs no introduction. Fråse at least in her youth was capable of destroying the city of Weise by herself, and Macht believed only someone on his level could beat her. Löwe is a warrior who was able to kill one of the three Great Mages, Minus the Witch.

Nah but Serie (Seriebox Ver.) does (Also has Macht and Solitär).
I added Fern too. I don't really know if her magic LS should just be left as above Kanne's, or if she'd scale above Richter?

But anyways even ignoring all the anime scenes that make feats 10x more impressive, there's a bunch of useful original scenes or moments that help get a grasp on stats. Like Edel– a non-combatant Hypnosis Specialist– randomly tossing a bunch of rocks with telekinesis. It makes everything easier 💔

Depends on if Magic scales linear where the more powerful are, the more output you can use it to lift. But wouldn’t mean Ubel would scale as well, due to being superior to a third-class mage

I'd argue she would too yeah.

For Fern’s stuff, since she has a modified version of Zoltraak that specializes in demons and can increase its density, would that grant her Damage Boost. And Frieren as well when she get her profile updated eventually

The Zoltrack Fern uses in the recent chapter might be a speed upgrade, I'm looking at it, and depending how I go about it, it's an easy upgrade or at worst like equal with the current speed. It's like a 5 second calc, might just throw it in a blog.

skimming the manga atm, there's a few bit feats ill prob toss in a blog becaue they take like 5 seconds to calc.
Frieren def a character that would benefit a fuckton from a feat box for various intel, mimicry, infoanal, etc feats and other slop tho.

A Frieren profile rework intimidates me way more than a Serie rework just because of the sheer amount of feats she has tbh. I'm probably not gonna touch her page unless it's general edits, unlike my Serie/Fern/Macht sandbox.

I already started compiling shit because I was bored, got a few big ones and working on compiling all the infoanal feats and zoltrack uses atm. Going in chapter order tho.

But, I'm also not really gonna hyperfocus it, just do a lil bit here and there. Prob be done in a month or something idk, not really a rework, just a featbox. Someone else can deal with slapping that shit on the profile, I'll just have it sorted out like Baoh or some shit like I usually do.

Do we have a confirmation on how big the Imperial Capital is cause the Unknown Shadow Warrior and Serie’s Mana Detection could cover its entirety

Phråse's mana detection was also blanketing the capital it seems. I don't thing there's a confirmed size though.

Is the data book for Frieren: Beyond Journey's End available in English yet? What kind of information does it include? Are there details about any specific characters?

Whats it called exactly

It probably does have interesting stuff yes but I haven't seen any TLs.

The Frieren light novel is translated and has some interesting stuff too, like light magic (SoL attack speed for Serie...)

Dont bother replying, I bought it, it is an artbook + databook. Ill translate it and throw it in my CRT. If anything notable shows up Ill mention it here.

Can already tell, while there's probably few things in here. It won't be much (like dont expect ******* secret AP upgrade or FTL yap). The databook isn't like a DBZ one where it's anal about every technique, action scene, etc.

Each relevant character has a section that's split between Personality/Battle/PastStory/relationships.

And I already checked Denken's section for funny light speed shit, Don't say shit unless they elaborate in a dif part.

From the looks of things, it might be useful for scaling in particular (Frieren's zoltrack has a pretty easy upscale off every spell seen so far in raw power, she only uses the lightning spell against foes she considers strong, etc). Or minor stuff like aura and mana yap.

As an example, here's this bitch's sheet. Demon's only get two pages tho (Main characters (Fern, Himmel, Denken, etc get like 6).

It was interesting to see some of the privileges granted to the First-Class Mages, I never expected Übel's choice. I wonder if this chapter means that the other First-Class Mages (Wirbel, Methode, Lernen) chose combat-oriented spells.

I'm torn on whether I think Serie will die in this arc. The foreshadowing is incredibly heavy-handed, to the degree that it feels like a misdirect. Serie casually saying that she coud solo the entire Imperial Army was quite funny.

Figure it out bozos, idc what you list it as but list it.

Fern
Intelligence: Gifted (Fern is a prodigious Mage who impressed Frieren with her exceptional control over her mana from the young age of 9.[3] She quickly rose to prominence, becoming the youngest ever Mage to achieve the highest-possible score on the Third-Class Mage exam.[26] Under Frieren’s tutelage, Fern rapidly improved through both field experience against monsters and demons, and continuous intensive training,[26] leading to her thriving in the First-Class Mage Exam. It was in the third test of the First-Class Mage Exam that Fern was recognized as a prodigy by the Great Mage Serie, as Fern could see through Serie's unstable mana,[1] a feat that not even Lernen, who could perceive Frieren's unstable mana, could achieve. This caused Serie to ask Fern to be her apprentice, promising to take her to the apex of magic that no Mage has reached before, and then she passed Fern as a First-Class Mage anyway[29] even when Fern refused. Fern’s combat prowess is notable as well: due to her training she only uses the most basic of offensive and defensive spells, which has led her to developing skills in rapid casting, controlling a multitude of offense spells simultaneously,[7][8][9] ultra-long-range shooting undetectable by demons,[10][11][12] and she could increase the density of Zoltraak with no reduction in speed.[9] Her skills in mana detection, long-range sniping, and magical quick-draws even allowed her to pick out a specific persons mana out of countless sources and then intentionally shoot them[2] in a non-fatal spot from hundreds of meters away. Fern has also mastered Frieren’s strategy of catching demons off guard[19] by constantly suppressing her mana, leading them to underestimate her power– a skill which she learned in under a decade despite it normally requiring over 2 centuries to master–[1] and she has mastered this skill beyond even her mentor's capabilities,[4] despite Frieren having constantly suppressed her mana for a millenium. Frieren believes that Fern will become an even more famous Mage than her,[28] the Mage who defeated the Demon King)

Macht
Intelligence: Genius (Macht exhibits profound skill in the magical arts, adeptly mastering human magics and highly advanced spells such as Zoltraak—[18] a pinnacle of Offensive Magic in the war era— along with sophisticated Defensive Magic and telekinesis.[10] Macht's skill in magic has been praised by the[10] Great Mage Serie, and Denken believed that Macht's abilities as a Mage were beyond the realm of modern magic,[9] at the apex of magic which humanity could never reach. In fact, Macht is Denken's master and instructed the First-Class Mage in human magic in his youth.[18] Distinguishing him further from his peers, he also demonstrates exceptional proficiency in physical combat, skillfully wielding both sword and trident,[6][7] a rarity among Mages)

Solitär
Intelligence: Genius (Solitär is an eccentric and powerful Great Demon, with magical skill rivalling Frieren the Slayer herself. She possesses impossibly-fine control over her enormous volume of mana, allowing her to manipulate it freely and passively guard against all but the greatest of Offensive Magic using just that mana,[8][9][10] and even layer it to form dense mana shields, all without incantations. Solitär has intently studied humanity's magic system,[3][4] and is adept enough to teach human magic to demons. Her deep knowledge of humanity's magic allowed her to analyze and dispel the Great Barrier of El Dorado, which was created by the artful fusion of many disparate theories and traditions of humanity's magic,[4] the collective work of multiple Great Mages pooling together their knowledge and skill. Additionally, Solitär possesses a firm grasp on biology, taxonomic classifications, and scientific theories[15] such as convergent evolution)

Im like at ch 80-90 in the featbox slop.

Is there like, is there like a ******* reason why Frieren doesn't have TK (even though her LS is literally based on it?), if it's just a matter of forgetting that's fine, I'll add it but there's some stuff she's missing that's like what happened.

Telekinesis is like one of the first things she shows (floating books) so she should 100% have it.

You actually can't. You used Stark to get a timeframe. You kinda shot yourself in the foot, he can't scale to it now. If you scale it to him, it invalidates the timeframe for the calc and then it becomes circular scaling.

This is the catch or doing calcs like that, we use human reactions and stuff as minimum, but instant ya do it negs scaling to the character being used as a benchmark as unfortunate as it is. If I were you, I'd look over if they say anything that'd give it that timeframe anyway without needing to use Stark.

Am I illiterate? The timeframe is 1 second based on it immediately reaching him, not based on Stark's reaction timeframe, right?
