Forces of Heaven and Hell in an endless skirmish. Round 1 Match 7. DoomSlayer vs Nacht Faust

Does his anti-magic negation work on creatures who disable the ability to cast spells or against creatures that are unaffected by spells? Because DoomSlayer's magic resistance in the DOOM: Eternal key is the latter

OK so DoomSlayer has faced off against creatures like that which is this guy, capable of dodging everything besides hitscan. However even without bullets, the Slayer does have methods of dealing with creatures like this such as the BFG which fires a giant projectile that goes through walls and fires tracking lazers that cannot be dodged, rocket launchers which can home in on his targets, and the Microwave Beam which fires a lazer which both stuns and homes in on his opponents while also being almost instantaneous on its targeting, homing on the nearest enemies when fired
Is Doom: Eternal a magical verse?
Apparently so. Some enemies have magic listed on their P&As such as on Arch-Vile's third key which counts as Unholy Magic. Should be pretty similar to Nacht's
The Canis mode grants him the ability to create an Army of shadows that can only be defeated if you defeat Nacht for reasons you already know.
Shouldn't be too bad. As I've said on the post, the slayer is used to taking on specific targets while being chased down by large amounts of fast mobile demons and their projectiles
The last mode allows Nacht to paralyze his enemy for a moment with a sound.
He can't combo this with his other modes, right? Assuming he can't, that's a pretty good tool to break free or get in some good hits
One of those abilities is to create two massive shadow dogs to restrain his opponent by biting their arms
Does it just get summoned next to his target? Also the slayer does have a flamethrower and grenade launcher on his shoulders so he can probably get them off him
 
Okay so Nacht will start with Devil Union to keep things fair for both sides.

Fair. However Nacht can further amp the speed of his spells by adding more magic power into his spells by fusing with two devils.

He has a lot of abilities and for a side character he only uses them once or twice. It’s always something new when he gets screen time and it’s always something that seems best for the situation. He hasn’t used some devil Union forms yet so there’s probably going to be even more abilities. So it’s kinda hard to know which he would use since he has a ton to choose from, kinda like game characters without combat cutscenes. So Nacht just chooses what’s best for the situation. If Doomslayer is pesky he would use paralysis.

He uses Dark Prison Hunting Ground first or second move but that’s restricted. Sooo dunno.
 
So what are DoomSlayer’s wincons so we I can make counterarguments and then we can begin voting.

*Multiple homing and hit-scan tools
*Above average dodging capabilities and multi-tasking
*Magic resistance
*Shoulder weapons for breaking free from grapples
 
Multiple homing and hit-scan tools

Nacht has massive endurance (can take a ton of beatings and damage) and he can use stat amps (speed and power amps) like Mana Zone and Double Devil Union. He can go even faster if Plumede (devil with cat mask) is involved in the Devil Union or Double Devil Union.

With Plumede also known as Felis Mode Nacht can dodge danmaku and attempts to nuke a battlefield + it‘s more than a 1.25x speed amp (he was comparable to 80% Dante and could dodge Naamah who is at least 1.25x faster iirc) / double devil Union it’s a 2.5x speed boost (reacted to those 2.5x faster than his 80% Dante, with Plumede in the mix he’s far higher than that)

So Nacht should be able to dodge these attacks or teleport to avoid them. His shadow arms also become 2.5x faster in Double Devil Union and with Mana Zone the arms become even faster.

Magic resistance

In BC, the higher your magic, the more layered it is against certain hax, resistances and power nullification. For example The Ancient Demon was stated to repel all magic in existence and Mereoleona bypassed it by just being far stronger than it,

Where does Doom Slayer’s resistance come from? Cant seem to find it.

more would just keep coming and considering Nacht can further amp himself with Double Devil Union, Doomslayer will struggle to destroy the shadow arms before they destroy his shoulder weapons.
 
So here are Nacht’s advantages and wincons

  • Stealth Mastery
  • possibly paralysis (or combined with something else like getting attacks in)
  • BFR.
  • Piercing + AP and Speed advantage.
  • Shadow Arms restraining every part of his body including the shoulders, especially if Nacht sees it can fire weapons
 
So here are Nacht’s advantages and wincons

Alright, I'll concede. I knew Nacht would probably win this one anyway
 
I kinda wish I had the Dark Prison Hunting Ground unrestricted… It was my favorite move from Nacht 🥺
 
kinda sad that doom is very weak since he only have few power and maybe doesn't even have hax,no wonder why he is the fodder of tier low 1-C 💀,anyway nacht fra
