Imagine losing the world cup cause your ass was too fat
Double hitboxes

Like most people here, i just saw the best football match of my life, and also the end of the best world cup ever

We had such amazing histories, from unexpected results in the first phase, to the rising of teams like Japan and Marrocos, which showed that there is amazing technique outside of Europe and South America

I think we can all agree that Mbappe will be the greatest french player ever, and possibly top 5 of the history, he represents the unstoppable brute force of the young

But Messi... He is the opposite, he is the synthesis of his 172 matches wearing the Argentina uniform (26 of those in World Cups, one of many records he archive today). He is a beautiful story that now concludes maybe his most glorious chapter.

Back in 2014, when he lost against Germany here in Brazil, i remember a news reporter saying: "He for sure will be in 2018, but what about 2022?"

Well, the reporter got his answer today

I think it is important to remember that football is a team's game, and the Argentina's team had a talent that goes beyond Messi, from Angel di Maria (Even older than Messi) Scoring with that beautiful assistance, to Martinez miraculous defense that literally saved his country, to Enzo Fernadez, the ascend star that represents this new era for the South America football

Even the coach, did you guys know that he was a last minute chose? He has the most underappreciated job in this sport, he is the one that extracts the best of his players. And he absolutely managed to do that today

What a ride, thanks everybody for the company, until 2026!

Messi the greatest ever, whoever say the opposite doesn’t know footbal.

go watch young Messi, he clears everyone.
young messi destroys everyone, true but I think that the 2022 Argentinian team is as good as the 2014 team, if not better

Messi fans are delusional

Mbappe carried his entire team and got a hattrick. He clearly preformed better than Messi here. It's not his fault France can't score penalties and their goalies.

Mbappe ended the goat debate.

Yeah, Messi still need to win 2 more WC to be compared to him. Though both of them sit on a table that nobody else sits.

I hope people calling Mbappe the GOAT are bating, dude isn't even the best French player yet. Ronaldo, both Cristiano and Fenomeno clears him. Obviously, he has a brilliant future ahead, but as of now, he is just a good player.

most of his goals were against Brazilian teams that no one knows
You know why Pelé didn't play against europeans teams? Back then they were mostly trash, Brazilian league until the 80s used to dominate football. Santos, the team he played for, even refused to play Copa Libertadores, a tournament with the best south american teams because the level was also too low compared to the clubs in Brazil.

Why is Pelé the greatest in history? Simple, because after Pelé, football becomes professional and starts to crawl towards what it is today. Pelé forces football to change, because the way it was, it would be impossible to continue. Pelé is the breaking point between two eras, the pre- and post-Pelé eras. Before Pelé, football is archaic, with players caring little about their physical conditioning. Pelé forces all of this to evolve and seek a physical football united to the individual technical level. For many, he is the greatest genius of all time - or at least he is always in the top 3 - and not for less, he is certainly the only one who compares to Messi (or the other way around) in technical football. One of the greatest scorers and also one of the greatest assistants of all time. Anyway, it is impossible to take Pelé out of the top 3 best in history (for me, the top 2) and this obviously increases his greatness. He is the greatest player in the history of the World Cup, the only one to win 3 titles in the tournament, the player with the most G/A's, and a player with one of the greatest performances in the history of the World Cup, in 1970 (for me, the 3/4th best), all this with less than 20 games in the competition.
