Creation is an obvious one

He should have all the powers of the Ainur for obvious reasons (And really the powers of the good guys in verse)

Omnipresence should go, I don't think that's ever actually stated

Omniscience should probably just be nigh omniscience

He should resist most of Morgoth's abilities (Power Absorption, death manipulation, transmutation, conceptual manipulation, etc)

Type 4 acausality due to the existence of https://vsbattles.fandom.com/wiki/Vairë

Oh, and precognition

Agree with most, but he should scale from their active powers, not literally everything.

Acausality is a state of existence sort of thing, don't see why creating someone with it would scale to the creator

Also no to resistance

Edited my comment a bit. Why resistance? It isn't like him and Morgoth are locked in a perpetual battle or anything.

I don't think that he has regen

The parts that have been accepted by Kaltias should probably be fine to add, but it is best to use the Knowledgeable Members List and the supporters and neutral sections of the Lord of the Rings verse page to find people to ask to comment here.

Have you asked Azathoth to comment?

Have these abilities been added yet?

The author clearly (being Christian) intended Eru to mirror the Christian God, which would place him at tier 0. It doesn't need to be explicitly explained in the author's works, because it is clearly implied in those works.

We obviously cannot give him such a massively high rating based on a very low level cosmology.

Anyway, you are derailing.

@Everybody else

Have these changes been handled yet?

No, this thread is about his listed abilities, whereas you started talking about that we should upgrade him to tier 0 just because he is patterned after the Christian God, which goes completely against our conventions.

Anyway, let's end this derailment discussion immediately and focus on getting the original purpose applied instead.

Also, the cosmology isn't low-level, it simply isn't specified. But if you believe that the whole "multiple dimensions" thing constitutes a higher-level cosmology, in fiction-land, yes; however, there has been to-date no scientific basis for dimensionality or the multiple universes hypothesis; it's simply a mathmatical axiom. I'm just making sure I'm dealing with sane people from the outset, as this is my first time to the forum.

If you are only here to derail, antagonise, and start problems, it is probably best if you leave this community.

We are definitely not going to change our standards on your say-so. If we strictly went by proven science, rather than fictional and philosophical conveniences, there would be no higher tier than High 3-A.

See here for further information: Dimensional Tiering

It is never stated how many universes Eru sung into existence or resides over, the most you could say is low-multiverse level hence is current rating. It is de-railing because no where in the original post does Zach talk about a tier 0 upgrade.

We should return to the original topic, and preferably get the changes done, yes.

Btw: I would say that Eru's exact power level is unknown.

I apologize for derailing as well. Thanks

Also, I realize I had somehow replied earlier without seeing preceding responses to me, which is why I wasn't making much sense.

Anyway, to the point of giving Eru no regen: Tolkien' writing was the kind where he would often imply something without explicitly saying it. Now I'm sure he didn't intend regen since he wrote before the time of D&D and all such games. Rather, I think he intended Eru to be a Christian-type God with all the associated powers. But if we are going with what he explicitly tells us, then Eru is going to be much weaker than the author intended.

And yes, I believe by definiton the creator must have all the abilities and capacities for choice of his creations.

Well, I think that we currently use "Unknown, at least..." for his statistics.

As I mentioned earlier, I am fine with if somebody wants to add the abilities accepted by Kaltias.

I deleted my other reply, I found that you had already included one of my suggestions. You guys really did a good job with this.

Well, somebody experienced still needs to update the page with the changes accepted by Kaltias.

I believe he would have Willpower Manipulation as well, because the concept of "Will" is such a big deal in the LOTR lore. Sauron could quell the will of his adversaries with his aura, Fingolfin affected the will of Morgoth with his Rage Aura, etc.

Are we waiting on a staff member to update the page?

Sorry for the massive Necro

However, this seems pretty important and necessary to add. What would his speed become then? Why was omnipresence there previously?

Why no to omniscience? I thought the point of Eru in LOTR is that he knows all and every living being is Eru's children etc.

Yes, is somebody willing to handle it?

Okay. I will unlock the page for you. Tell me here when you are done.

Thank you. Should we close this thread?
