Dragonball Movie Characters Speed

Hmm yeah it's entirely possible this is the only Stan Lee-esque cameo appearance we get from a movie character in GT. Guess we can now conclude that the Movie Canon =/= Anime Canon, even though DBGT being a continuation of Anime Canon.

You already proved that Bojack and Broly should get the scaling, along with everyone after/inbetween. This is now more of a matter of pre-Brojack and GT.

It's mainly Turles who shouldn't get the scaling, I can't ignore the Bojack or Broly feats because 1) they happened in the movie itself and 2) you just can't call everything an outlier hehe.

Ah, again you guys don't listen, do you know what makes Stan Lee's appearance a cameo? It's because he is iconic with the brand name of Marvel, this kind of cameo is a very different type of cameo than a character cameo.

Basically character cameo =/= Icon cameo

Also, the Baby Saga is based on a race from the Plan to Eradicate Saiyans. Which is a movie. Which has movie villians.

EDIT: This is for FTW's earlier comment

The Tuffles are a canon race in the Dragonball lore if I remember correctly.

No. Plan to Eradicate Saiyans is a game. A choose your own adventure game adapted into an anime. It would be like if Shin Budokai got an anime adaptation and we scaled it to GT.

Also, with your canon example. I guess Arale is famous enough in the DB verse to get her own poster? And where's Icarus in GT?

mmm... Now that I remember, someone showed me an interview of GT/movie things that were original idea of Toriyama, including the Tuffle and Piccolo weakness, not sure if could be useful for this thread...

Nah, while some things of that were his original ideas (like the Tuffles and Broly's design), they were never implemented in the canon series.

Just inspiring something doesn't make it canon. Dark Knight Returns inspired BvS. They're not part of the same continuity.

>Inspiring

>Inspiring

Are you legitimately saying this is just inspiration?

I see, wanted to find more links between GT and movies, but it only has a movie and one second of one chapter from GT, at least Cooler cameo din't mess with continuity at all.

There's probably a better word for it, but my analogy is the same. Based off of? Is that better? Probably not.

welp, whatever the connection is, we should remove the ratings of mftl+ in the ones below Broly movie, and just rate Broly, Bojack and Buu as mftl+ in flying speed and scale the ones with similar characteristics.

Based off is a better word, but your analogy is definitely not the same.

Faust > Puella Magi Madoka Magica = Inspiration

Marvel Comics > MCU = being based off something (Don't have the actual word for this, so lets call it Original Material)

PtES > GT = Continiution / Lore Addition

Well, when I said cooler I was actually referring to Metal Cooler, when fused with the Big Gete? Star, he has MFTL+ travel speed, doesnt he?

Oh, actually that is to some extent true, just that it is probably unknown MFTL+

That would scale to no one, right? Unless you mean that infinite speed feat about fighting during teleportation.

infinite speed would be outlier or maybe some insane adaptation from his part (hax). Also, when did the Metal Cooler movie take place? Before broly?

I think that in non-canon the teleportation isn't exactly instantaneous, since it appeared that Goku and Cooler could move in some kind of dimension, but that has no sense

@Cal idk, the Big Gete Star did unify with Cooler after all, so he should be MFTL+

Yeah. This one is head scratching. I agree for certain that it works for main cooler, the one that still has the partial organic head. Meta Coolers are my main question.

Well I mean, Goku and vegeta were able to somewhat keep up with him, so I would assume so, just to a lesser amount.

Metal Coolers are linked to/controlled by the main one, so their reaction speed should be similar.

Turles speed should be significantly lower. It seems that his movie took place in a hypothetical situation where Goku arrived on time and they beat the saiyans with no casualties, hence why Goku couldn't go SSJ or use the giant spirit bomb. This means Goku hadn't gone to Namek to perform the feat in this movie.

Turle should be Relavistic to Relavistic+ for fighting Kaioken ×10 Goku. At best I can see FTL.

Not only are you basing your entire suggestion on a theory, your theory is actually wrong as shown by the fact that Goku can go Kaio ken x20 / 10, something he could only go to during the fight with Frieza.

I definitely agree with SomebodyData that we should consider DBGT as a direct continuation of the DBZ anime, and as such be able to scale from the preceding series. The alternative would be to have virtually no statistics whatsoever within the profile pages.

The movies are probably iffier, but are strongly based on the DBZ anime, so, in lack of better options, it is probably best to scale them from it as well, or we would just end up with a lot of "Unknown" statistics ratings.

Regarding the Namek/Frieza sage MFTL+ speed feat, we already had an extensive discussion about this, and accepted it, but I can understand that it could be interpreted as an outlier.

@Ant haven't we already established that DBGT is a direct continuation of the DBZ anime, I mean that wasn't really up for discussion even. The movies however, as you've said yourself, are a different case and in my opinion aren't linked to the DBZ anime.

Okay. Good. I thought that some people here wanted to rate all 3 of the series separately.

Anyway, didn't various movie villains return from hell during DBGT?

  • sigh* pretty sure this has also been addressed in this thread already, yes Cooler from Movie 5 made a one-second appearance in the entire GT franchise and as far as I know he's the only one.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, the problem is that we have to scale the movie characters from something, or they all end up at Unknown ratings.

The real cal howard said:
Heck, Cooler appearing in itself is inconsistent. He should be metal. Not in his Super Shredder form.
Revived Frieza wasn't in his Metal Form either.
