Dragon ball Z soul resistance?

So, in dragon ball z, goku took hits from fat buu while he was dead

And vegeta took hits from kid buu while he was dead

And im pretty sure that goku said that if you die while your "dead" you simply cease to exist(Meaning that ur soul got destroyed)

So...
Maybe we can give soul resistance to goku and vegeta?

I don't think that's how it works.

Goku wasn't fighting with his soul, he was fighting with a body he was given after he died because he was a special case. If you die after being killed your soul dies, that isn't soul resistance or destruction.

This. . .literally makes no sense. Just because they get hit while they're dead doesn't mean that they get some kind of resistance to soul attacks. If their actual soul was getting attacked and they weren't affected, then yeah, that'd be resistance to soul attacks.

Indeed. But this isn't the case.
goku got pretty privileges and was able to keep his mortal body in the after life, so did vegeta. As for kid buu, he wasn't a soul, he just transported himself to the afterlife
