The Hunter marched through the bitter, harsh cold of Snowdin Forest, head down in an attempt to use his hat to protect from wind chill. He had heard stories of monsters under this mountain, if they were anything like the monsters he was used to dealing with, they might be connected to the plague. If that was true, he'd kill them like he would any other beast. As he looked up, he saw a small child in a sweater looking at him in confusion. The two silently considered the other. In all of Frisk's playthroughs of the Underground, they had never come across this man before. Frisk idly wondered if that was a good thing, noticing the man's bloodsoaked cloak and heavily used cleaver at his side. The Hunter looked over what seemed to be an ordinary child. The child's expression was oddly neutral, but aside from that there was nothing noticeably off about them. The Hunter, however, had a gut feeling, a well honed instinct, that this child was not as they appeared on the surface. This moment of silence was cut short by the arrival of Papyrus.

"HELLO HUMAN! I SEE YOU FOUND- ACK!" Papyrus had been cut short by The Hunter's Blunderbuss blowing a hole through his chest. "...OH." Was all Papyrus had time to croak out before he fell into a pile of dust. The Hunter was quietly annoyed by the lack of loot the monster dropped, paying no mind to Frisk's sudden look of horror. Seeing know reason to remain idle, The Hunter moved to continue forward, only to be stopped as Frisk stepped into his path. Frisk hesitantly pointed a knife at The Hunter, a silent challenge between two mute immortals of very different worlds. Frisk knew they couldn't let this man pass, but so far the lack of dialogue coming from him was making an attempt at mercy difficult. Mercy might not be possible here.... yet. The Hunter stared as the child pointed a worn dagger in his direction. He was trying to figure out why the child would bother to attack him, but figured that it didn't really matter. A hunt was a hunt, abd if he didn't act fast, he'd surely die. After all, it was kill or be killed.
