Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

*Vergil that kills Dante in mission 7 of DMC3

* Vergil that kills Dante at the end of DMC3

* Vergil that kills Mundus and takes his throne

* Vergil that got the power of Sparda

* Vergil that kills Nero

* Urizen that kills Dante/Nero

* Urizen that kills Dante after the fruit

* Vergil takes control of Fortuna

what else could be a bad a worse choice than the ones made?
I was thinking a Vergil that is still the demon king, maybe he killed Dante in DMC3, as you said.

A Vergil that is still Nelo Angelo could be an interesting mirror too. A timeline where Mundus beat Dante and still has Vergil.

Another thought is a Vergil that lost Dante early, was the one to beat Mundus, but later became a tyrant. That would allow for a parallel Lady who had been his primary ally and now opposes him in some way.

with this one

idk what would change besides the obvious "eternal slave" part? If anything it would just show Vergil something he should have overcome in DMC 5 thanks to V unless they do what they did with Dante and ignore his character arc regarding his demonic side and just forget about it

Yeah DMC5 ****** Dante over with the whole "hates his demonic form" stuff

Like a subversion of the Nelo Angelo from the alternative universe in vol2? Yeah that could be very interesting... especially becoming a tyrant for what would seem no reason at all

I was thinking a parallel Nelo Angelo could be a sub-boss that Vergil stomps while struggling with his own past.

Vergil alluded to such a thing in DMC5 when he speculated about he and Dante switching lives. Discovering that such a switch ends with a tyrannical Vergil could be interesting for his own introspection.

I'd honestly be fine with a completely new character, with a completely different timeline, just being Sparda descendant is enough. Only Sparda and his rebellion against Mundus is a must. The rest it can deviate a bit. Explore new locations or time periods like 16th or 17th century era, like Castlevania and Bloodborne, gothic aesthetics would be cool. Just with similar gameplay mechanics and an equally over the top character like Dante.

A cameo from mainline is fine too like say Dante travels across the multiverse and ends up there for a mission.

1) Nah, if Vergil wins, he holds Dante close to him on the edge of waterfall, in anguish over loss of his brother when he finally realises he doesn't actually want to get rid of Dante. Then he probably seals Dante somewhere safe, takes all 3 Sparda blades and goes defeat Mundus and becomes Demon King. He revives/unseals Dante, Dante is angry and rebels against him, but Vergil enjoys it like some sort of twisted love, then Vergil will forcefully make Dante his slave and Dante will occasionally rebel when he remembers and Vergil will keep repeating this cycle.

2) Dante wins but instead of allowing Vergil to fall to DW, he knocks him unconscious and takes him back home. Chains him up like a prisoner and seals his power, confiscates Yamato, then Dante will try to "fix him", ensue angst filled drama. Add Nevan to the mix as well.

When has Capcom ever adapted mangas/novels for a game or anything of sort, most of these are written basically to fill gaps if needed and thats all they are for

Like no offense to those who want these adapted in a game, Capcom just couldnt care less to do that, they have no reason to give out extended media if they just gonna be implemented in game format for adaptation

If DMC is to be going the route RE does, a remake of 1 and 2 is the best thing you get, if kamiya wants, just get to work on them and improve on the originals then a new game can be made like RE9 at some point

I also think same, why tf AAA Game Company should publish fan service things as standalone games? It is obvious that they were published for series fans and you would need definitely way more thing than publishing fan service things to games.

Like logically for Capcom spending millions on some game like Pragmata or something would be way profitable then publishing fan service products as game(Cuz mind you even publishing them would mean they need to completely revise product)

I'm a little greedy in wanting a remake and new entry at the same time.
Something I'm unsure of happening, is an offline version of PoC like how Nebulajoy did with Mega Man Dive x, have all that scummy gacha stuff gone.
Modders could make work with that game.

MONEY!

But seriously, adapting old novels into games straight up saves a lot of time and money cuz the whole story is there, they just need to do everything else.

Tony if Capcom ever done that, dont you think they would have made it by far with any of their IPs? Whom also have extended media as well

You expect them to suddenly adapt these cuz its easier and saves money, thats not how that works, money is still spent to make it and not any less, you think an anime for a manga costs any less for having a source material

If anything just add these things in remakes, for DMC2 is much better then just make a separate thing for them

You all know that most game budget goes to marketing still? How tf there is saving money going there 🙄🙄. And since when Capcom fell into company which doesn't want millions from game.

My favourite boss Phantom, he has fun banter, sick theme song & his spider side is creepy.

Nightmare version is at least twice as big in VoV.

Repost from the aura thread.
Kamiya really loves DMC!

Phantom theme

Hard rock/Heavy metal version.
Over 6 years back, hearing that DMC 5 SE would get additional battle themes from the series, I was hoping this or the Eva rendition would get picked, but considering we got the HR/HM ver of Devils Never Cry, I was happy nonetheless.

@Hecky2222 I will peek into that thread

with amount of things you posted in single post, I thought it was my thread rather than general discussion 💀
