Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

did you delete your comment or I imagined something there?

honestly I have no clue, verses like BB have countless x infinite layers, others like Mondaiji have ad-infinitum layers and others have some other layers because they affect infinite amount of stuff or something

I wanted to comment about just by multipliers probably layering is impossible since I remember in staff thread DT's comments about potency and layers then rethought and deleted my comment since you guys might be talking about different thing

Rumors of a DMC 5 port for Switch 2. I only raised this as, past DMC ports on the Switch have exclusive QOL/modes the consoles/unmodded PC doesn't. Seems to be the case again with this Devil Hunter version of DMC 5.

Ultimately this is a rumor.

Is graphics in switch 2 even good  ?
Could think of it like a PS4 Pro. DMC5 debut on the One/PS4. DLSS/RAM helps the Switch 2 quite a bit.
I still think Legendary Dark Knight will be hard to run at a stable FPS.
I was thinking, what adjustments & minor additions they could add to DMC 5 as it wouldn't need a style/weapon switcher like DMC3 free style, maybe some Amibo content like they did for RE9.

LP Vergil chapter 3

Continues off, as The Hermit reveals himself to be a high Demon Lord, with many names, The Watcher, Judgement, The Fool, The Nightwatcher.

He states that centuries ago he was defeated and cast into The Greyworld, which is also described as a sunless void.

He says that being a noble demon lord, his soul is immortal, but his defeat had left his body weak, so much so that he can't leave The Greyworld in his current form. He continues that he has lured many for eons, baiting them into getting power, hoping he could get someone strong enough to get out of The Greyworld, that someone being Vergil, who he wanted to fuse his soul with.

Which forces The Hermit to invade Vergil's mind & directly attack his soul.

As The Hermit surges into Vergil, we are taken into the Spirit Sanctum, where we see a manifestation of Vergil's soul as this large blue..crystal/orb thing.
The Hermit subsequently sends waves of Demons to attack it.

Vergil successfully fights off the assault, which prompts The Hermit retort in shock in how resilient Vergil's soul is.

Vergil & The Hermit fight again, in which Vergil defeats him, getting out of the Spirit Sanctum. The end.

So we have The Greyworld, a realm that drifts between the Human & demon world, described as being a void, where Demons endless slaughter each other. A place vast enough it can trap/subdue a High Demon Lord, The Hermit.

Not entirely sure if the Spirit Sanctum is The Hermit/Nightwatchers realm, or that is The Greyworld, as noted in the summary screenshots. EDIT- thinking about it, isn't this inside Vergil, so Vergil's Spirit Sanctum?, as The Hermit uses energy to attack his soul directly?

If we are to say the Spirit Sanctum is not a realm The Hermit creates, then is that a place where souls can reside in DMC?
I dunno, but this storyline was interesting, more so than the previous ones, since it doesn't seem to have a strong relation to the other side stories. Seems quite self contained, as of now.

Interesting...

Crazy way of Vergil defending his soul, going into an astral plane/Spirit Sanctum to stop attacks, fusing/possession of his soul.
Fueled by pure motivated energy.
I'm was more intriguing about the fact that he defended his soul in mind. That certainly put things into perspective.

Using mind/fusionism/possession hax to attack Vergil's soul.
Is this more impressive than what Mundus did to Vergil in your opinion?
The application of powers I mean, not end result, as Mundus was successful.

ngl the watcher way of possessing people seems very weak lol

like you are stuck inside your own soul fighting demons for control over yourself while other demons straight up possess you even as side effects of their stuff (argosax for example)

Also Dante said that possession wouldn't work on them even as kids

If Abstract Existence of Devils essentially for their names and souls whereas they can still exist in physical body. Can't just Mundus, Argosax like characters have Higher Dimensional Existence technically for their physical existence?

preeeeetty sure you can't have HDE and abstract existence since they kinda don't mix

you are abstract and as such you have no dimensionality just like ideas and concepts, just like how some 134243 dimensional being can have thoughts and abstract ideas so can I

I think?

Also the bodies are clearly 3 dimensional and we don't have any kind of statement that supports their physical existences being higher dimensional beyond some random statements that don't get much traction

They should have HDE out fo the fact that soul and demonic energy are interchangeable and we know how casually latter mess with time and what not.
