Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

Nah, nothing is fodder here. It's all very vital soo it would take some time.

I'll do my thread soon with @Unoriginal777's assistance. For other threads, I let it to you and Gilver (if he ever comes back that is) to decide how to deal with it.
I think it would be necessary to specify in the physiology pages and the profiles the number of layers of each capacity. For example: Fear Manipulation (X Layers: insert justification)

I can make the thread and apply it if I am given the scans and explanations.

“Mom ...” whispered from Rock when he involuntarily remembered his mother. But quite often he was torn out - even his women made fun of him because when he dreams, he often speaks “mom “... but this habit did not leave Rock even after many, many years.

Dante 🤝 Rock Goldstein

Can I ask what changes you made here.
First off, my sandbox is a little bit more similar to the Ki Manipulation page as you can see.
Then in my sandbox I also included the passive P&A from the Demon Physiology page. All that will be left is to put the Demonic Energy Manipulation page in the Demon Physiology page (if my sandbox is accepted of course). This way the Demon Physiology page will be less messy and redundant because there won't be two of the same list of passive P&As.

Okay that's cool but I need to remind you that many passives that are present on Demon Physiology page are incorrect. Like gravity manipulation, physics manipulation is only specific to Demon World's environment (and is not even a resistance from what the scans tell me apparently). Similarly, time travel is only through specific utilization of DE and are not considered a side effect by coming in contact with DE.

Therefore, I suggest we wait for the moment when we are done with all revisions on the verse. After that, we'll look at what things needs to go and what should stay.

It would be cool if there were more remixes of DMC music besides the vocal tracks. The official HR/HM Arrange album is awesome, but the only doujin music album I know of is Devil May Club, which is about twenty years old at this point.

For that matter, while not as iconic as the vocals, the instrumental music through the series isn't far behind your Final Fantasy, Castlevania, and Touhou OSTs in terms of battle themes. And the levels, while not as scary in execution, I daresay often entail music as scary as almost anything from your Silent Hills and Resident Evils.

Any particular favorites? For me it's probably this one: those chiming chords after the rifts, the skipping percussion, that switchup halfway through and its progression! One of the most delightfully 2000s tracks.

I miss old DMC alot honestly—especially the musical soundtracks as you mentioned (besides those Divinity Statue ones, my favorites were Nelo Angelo, Mundus, Head or Tail, Empty from reboot and many others from DMC3 and so on). The vibes were unmatched at that point.

Also Head or Tail ost is GOATed. Reminds me of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within even.

Yeah, my one big gripe with DMC5 is that as much as that had the best balance of play-anytime approachability yet a lot to master, as well as having a very satisfying plot, it didn't have those wretched vibes to quite the same extent 1 & 3 (and sometimes the others) had. What makes heroes like Dante most stand out to me over most shonen stuff is that they venture into some real heart-of-darkness territory but still retain composure & overcome genuinely grotesque horrors. Catchier instrumentals in those games, too.

Emphasizing the horror aesthetics more is NOT an invitation for a soulslike DMC or another reboot btw don't ever do that Capcom

Also speaking of remixes, while it may not fully musical, most notable remix when it comes to mind for me is Vergil battle 2 theme in the form of UMvC3 Vergil theme song. You can check it out here. @Follow_Doctor_Freeman

Says something when even the Dark Phoenix super can't handle him. Fun party game. I love playing Dante & Vergil in Smash Bros Crusade, too; chip damage but huge combo potential for both. They did a great trailer for Dante, don't think there are any good videos for Vergil but that "lore-accurate" character mod is a ton of fun. if just shy of MUGEN broken so appropriate for just the boss characters (which Dante can also contend against with enough skill).

Well... I was more of a Super Smash Flash 2 boy myself. I loved to play as Sonic or Goku (Goku mostly) then ichigo coz his sprites was awesome asf (I didn't even knew what series he was from back then).

While looking for examples of DMC & Half-Life sharing music samples -- little post on that later; I remember two yet think there are more -- I found this. Astounding. Takes a bit to get to the good stuff but I timestamped it. Now we know who to get to voice Nero if his original VA is unavailable in the future.
